No I don’t. They claimed the water came in thru that grommet when testing it.

doesn’t make sense as I see people cut wholes in these offer for light wires, etc

Yeah that sounds like bogus for the amount of water you're getting. I've run many wires through mine and never had a drop of water. Not saying it isn't that, but i don't think it's the cause. How are your windshield seals? Might be worth checking those out

Also just a thought, does your cab show any signs of rust? I can see you drive a newer rig but if some hardware or seal somewhere is failing that could also cause it.

Sorry final thought, you could also silicon it, but then you wouldn't be able to run any additional wires through

I'm going to check with a hose. Wetness inside is limited to the top 2" or so around the wires coming in.

That's what the service rep told me to do when he showed me in the parking lot, 'off the record'

I see. Sucks. I wonder if you could find some sort of longer rubber boot to put around the stock one to stop more water flow?

Rather than pay thousands of bucks just to replace the grommet, try some FLEX SEAL or other brand of liquid rubber spray and liberally apply/spray around the grommet on the firewall, onto the grommet and into the space where that wire loom goes into the truck.
I've used the stuff on the roof of my house to seal seams around a skylight and the stuff works great!

Second this OP, don't know why I didn't think of it. Probably a better option than a boot over it and you may still be able to stick wires through it if you want to run more stuff to the cab.

Agree, the amount of water coming in is minimal.

Not sure of its worth getting a second opinion from the dealer I bought my truck from or not.

Looking around online it looks like some 4Runner's leak when their grommets are cut to route wires through. Alot of water hits them due to the location of the 4R's wires. RTV Silicone seems to seal them up and have made a little roofs over it with success.

Yeah i would definitely try that before a dealership or shop tries to extort you to replaced the whole wire bundle, grommet, etc.

A wise idea, I fixed a hole in my roof temporarily with that and a slab of shingle until I could get a roofer to repair it correctly. Stuff works.

The hood release cable moves freely in and out of the firewall causing the grey washer not to contact the grommet. Tried pulling the cable tight and sliding the grey washer but it’s doesn’t want to move and I’m a bit scared to break anything. When the grey washer is out it leaks slightly, when tight no leak found. Whatever silcone they used early this week never cured and was still wet. Thoughts on a good adhesive to secure this? There is a lot of play in the cable so I’m a bit hesitant to secure in a way that could rip the rubber if it moved somehow
