Has anyone mounted a Warn XD....i series winch on their truck?

It seems like depending on the placement it could require trimming the grille and maybe even the lower core support.

I have an XD9000i with synthetic line and need a new front bumper for my truck so Im curious to see what my options are. I wouldn't be opposed to fabricating my own mount and using a factory bumper

Yes, if you use the “i” winch, you will need a bumper with an open top and you’ll need to trim the grill like I did

Did you need to trim the lower core suposup at all? It looks like it clears ok from your pics.

I haven't decided whether I will build my own or buy a bumper. If I build it I might push the wonch forward a bit to minimize cutting

What do you mean lower core support? The plastic legs that clip into the metal in front of the radiator?

Nope, no metal trimming is needed. Only have to chop off the plastic that clips into it

Mine sits right against the grill no trimming
But my bumper sticks out forward quite a bit

Word! Did you build that bumper?

I just picked up some stuff to build my own so I will probably set it in front of the grille as well.

I also spotted this on pirate and I like the design so I am going to mimick it:

Remember the further out in front you make your bumper, the more potential you will have on dragging the nose on sharp uphill inclines. I prefer it high and tight

True. I ended up with it a little on the low side but it shouldn't be too bad, seems about on-par with most of the aftermarket offerings, anyways. Still a WIP (going to add some hoops and tie in to the outer bumper mounts):

It was coroded on one side so i decided to refinish it

I used drill wire brush to strip the paint didnt realize that some parts were plastic
Made bunch of deep scratches that i didnt wanted to waste time on making them smooth would have taken forever

So i just coated it with the bumpers
