So I got my hands on a M15000 warn winch, which is a big son of a gun. I'm looking for a winch carrier (plugs into a receiver) for this, but I'm not showing any fit a winch this big. Is anyone aware of one that will work for this beast? I may have to have one made...

Good luck carrying that beast around. I have a M12000 for work and just had to dismount it and carry it to put in the back of the truck. Not something I would want to do again by myself.

The reason that you probably aren't finding a carrier is that the winch can pull more that the receivers are designed for. If you double line that one it is pulling 30,000 pounds. Most hitch pins are only rated for 5,000.

Yea...I realize this thing is way over kill and and my hitch is not designed to pull that much weight. But I doubt I will ever be that stuck. Besides this thing has never been used and was practically free, so I'm going to use it. According to warn this thing weighs 136lbs by itself.

I would change out to synthetic rope when you can. It will give you some weight savings.

wait til you get that cradle made, which is very likely the only option, it will just get heavier! the synthetic line can save you a good 20lbs though.

I'd post an your area trying to trade for a warn in the 8-10K lb range + cash, ( or sell it and buy what you want) you'll have what you need, your winch will be faster, you'll not ruin your back trying to move your winch around, and have cash left over. It shouldn't be too hard to find someone with a big diesel 1 ton wanting a winch.
