I know the rears are 6.5’s but how come it says it won’t fit in the rear door? Is crutchfield BSing me to buy more expensive ones?

    Use the Crutchfeild comparison section.

I've bounced around on several different choices. Using the comparison, I keep coming back to this combination for performance that fits my budget.

why is it saying the rears wont fit? dept? are you sure they will fit? do you have these? it keeps wanting me to buy the $130 ones that come with tweeters...but makes no sense cause rears dont have spot for tweeters.

keeps saying the TS-A652C will fit, but the 652F's are the same without tweeter, but wont fit? lol

I have not installed at this time.

The Crutchfeild Search Engine indicates the TS-A652F will fit the rear doors of my '06 Access Cab.

You probably need to call Crutch... and have a conversation with one of their techs.

Ok...just did a little digging on Crutch.. looking at mount dimensions.
    TS-A652C Diameter 5 7/16" Depth 2 7/8"
    TS-A652F Diameter 5 7/16" Depth 1 15/16"

Conclusion: If the A652C will fit, then the A652F will fit.
Still suggest to contact Crutch. Tech support to verify.
BTW, it wouldn't be the 1st website to have errors or omissions.

You want a better sounding stereo.... The sound coming out of the speakers it's only as good as the signal going into it.

IMO, the biggest bang for your buck, since you're not going all out would be to replace the head unit.
You'll get more power, more features, and expansion ability, if down the road you want to add an amp or 2 or 3...

You'll be surprised at what these Lil crappy speakers can do. I was.

As for speakers... Sound quality is very subjective. What sounds great to me may sound like shit to you. Grab your favorite CD and go audition speakers.

Do NOT put anything with a tweeter in the bottom of the doors. It's a waste, unless your ears are on your calves. The higher the frequency, the more directional it becomes. You want component speakers so that tweeter can be mounted up high. It'll accentuate channel separation and help set the stage.

Impedance is the total resistance in an AC circuit and it's comprised of actual resistance and reactance. Think of reactance as frequency resistance. Coils (Inductors,) and capacitors are frequency sensitive components and their reactance varies with the frequency. Inductors increase their frequency resistance as the frequency increases. Capacitors do just the opposite. Perfect components for crossovers.

Sensitivity shows how effeciently the speaker takes the power going in and converts it to sound.

Hope I added to the confusion.

    Seriously tho. Head unit first.

Thanks for the info man! And yes, even more confused now, lol head units are expensive and heard some or most won’t even work with all functions. Hope I’m wrong

    Stock, 4WD, Access Cab, White,
Larzzzz is correct. A new HU could provide a "better" signal to speaker to maximize its response, dependent on your choice. The HU can be added when your budget allows.

Replacing the speakers as a first step will provide an improved sound quality over the OEM speakers.

OP wants to keep his budget around $200. Speakers fit this requirement. A good HU starts above $300. Sure, there are less expensive HU, but they likely have similar performance as the OEM HU.

OP. Your cash, your choice. Good Luck.

I can easily get the speakers and HU I sent the link of, but just wanna make sure it’s all gonna work correctly. Want to make sure I’ll get better sound also, better bass and loudness, but not crazy loud where you can’t hear words of songs.

Steering wheel controls require an additional module to interface with the radio.

Any decent brand head unit will most certainly provide a better signal to the sparklers. No could, will provide a better signal. Removing the built-in equalization of the stock hu alone will be an improvement.

As for a good hu starting above 300., bs. My Kenwood excelon (single din) cost under 200 and is a huge improvement over the stock radio. There really is no comparison. With dash kit and steering wheel module, still under 300. Yes, I know I'm above OP's price point. However, I feel confident in saying new speakers, driven with the stock hu will be disappointing. Whereas driving these crappy Lil speakers with a decent hu will leave him pleasantly surprised. I was.

Like I said, the sound is only as good as it's source. The stock hu is not a good source.
