Update: I have a 2022 sr5 and im looking to get my tires to stick out more as i dont like how they sit stock. I dont have a lift nor leveling kit dont prefer to put one on it, want to stick with more stock size tire and rims, willing to put spacers on it so what would be the best size, brad, and tire size keeping the original stock rims which have the 265/70/16 tires on them now?

You can add spacers or get new rims with a negative offset. But whoever told you that you can fit 285s on stock suspension is setting you up for failure. Good luck going over speed bumps with that setup, let alone do a trail.

Depending on how much you want your tires to stick out, different mods will have to happen.
If you go to 285 size, you can't stick out much more than stock because you will rub, so you gotta lift and cut.
If you want to stick out an inch with stock size, you can do that with no mods.
More than an inch, you gotta lift and cut.

0 offset will put your wheels about flush with the fender flares. -12 offset will put them slightly outside of the flares. You’re more likely to have rubbing with -12 but mine was minor with 275/70/17s and Eibach 2” lift.

What atom ant said, -12 should be right where you want them. Honestly I would not have the headache of 285s if you’re just gonna do paved roads. Losing mpg and making the truck feel sluggish is not a good trade off if you’re not taking it on trails. Go with 265 ats and call it a day. Ultimately, it is your truck and do what you want. Keep us posted!

the pic is with stock suspension on 265 ko2 tires. These are 17inch rims with a 0 offset tho. I’m just referencing the tire size and not the poke

285’s will not work without a lift and will rub. Also will be close UCA’s. 265’s with wheel spacer will give you the stance you are looking for.

I got the 4Runner pro wheels which took me from a +30 to a +4mm offset. The stance is a bit more aggressive and doesn't have the additional complications of a big negative offset. The suspension is completely stock, as are the Toyo A30s. When these wear out they will be replaced Michelin LTX AT2s.

You get what you pay for. The cheaper the spacers the more likely they’ll cause you problems

I wanted the same thing without any hardware or mods so I got rid of the POS factory tires and installed some Falken Wildpeaks. I was surprised how much different and more aggressive it looked and achieved what I was looking for.

you can add wheel spacers but it will make your truck handle like garbage and put more stress on the drivetrain. if you want to sacrifice drive-ability/handling for cosmetics then go for it.

So going with wheels spacers what do you think would be the better size as well as tire size to achieve this?

If you're thinking about switching out your wheels in the future, get wheels with like -12 offset (sticks out 1 inch). I don't know too much about wheel spacers other than most of them are wack
