Hell yeah, that place is pretty sweet. No pun intended. Except the gas there was about 30 cents more expensive than most of what I've seen so far.

I had the Arcadian burger. The meat was meh, but the flavor was added with the bleu cheese and bbq sauce. Then, I was talked into mixing the strawberry and cookies and cream - best. idea. ever. Even though it was like 55 degrees out....

*Emporia... Haha if you couldn't get that one right you don't have a prayer with some of the Indian names you're about to encounter.

I don't envy the next day or so of your trip... Being from the KC area and going to school up in South dakota, I do 12 hours on I-29/I-90 quite often. Most of the tourist trap shit in the middle of SD is closed now, the only thing I've been to is Wall Drug (you'll be familiar soon enough, they have about 2,456,789,514 on I-90) it's pretty stupid, but I suppose it's worth a 15 minute stop to say you've been there. I haven't gone to anything else but the badlands scenic loop, it's probably close to an hour but the badlands are cool to see. It might be closed due to shutdown though, just take either exit 143 or 131 and head south a few miles and you'll be in them. They're not far from the interstate but it's almost completely invisible from interstate.

I also always end up pushing it pretty close on gas, stations aren't all that plentiful and a lot of them close during non-peak tourist season. Just keep in mind west of the river your options are pretty much Murdo, Kadoka, and Wall before you hit Rapid City.

Enjoy KC too... if you're looking to party I've heard good things about the power and light district. I've only been once to a concert but was too young for any bars

internet is down at the hotel so no pics except for what I have on my phone.

Made a pitstop/day trip to KCMO to meet up with Steve (A3umph). Started out with lunch at Rosedale's BBQ (amazing but bring your appetite), and as we got to talking, a trip to the Boulevard Brewery materialized. We got there around 1230 but the next tour wasnt until 2. Staying there would have resulted in us taxiing out so Steve suggested the Harley Davidson production plant where I picked up some schwag for my foster parents and we returned for the brewery tour which was pretty entertaining. Made a mandatory stop at the Flying Saucer before I left town. Ended up stopping in York, Nebraska for the night. Too bad I can't load the pics and video.

This is awesome. i would suggest a random road trip to everyone who has not done it.

In 08 after some serious tribulations in my life, i decided to go on a walkabout. Put everything i had in storage, Loaded up the truck and left Los Angeles with no destination in mind. 6 weeks later i was at the arctic circle, 2 weeks later i was in utah driving a snow cat at a resort where a friend of mine was the GM, stayed there for a month and finally headed back home to Los Angeles to get my life back together. Well worth it, everyone should do this one time in there life.
