So coming to yall today wth something really weird that I'm not sure where else to ask. There's two Walmart that every time I walk out of I seem to set off one of those theft alarms. The first time I was with my mom and they asked me to empty my pockets... obviously didn't have anything but my mom was super embarrassed. That walmart I've set off the alarm three times; twice when I walk through the scanner thing then just now it went off when I was walking out the door. The second walmart I set off the one time I went to it. I don't set off any other walmart location's anti theft things, and I don't set them off at Target or HEB (huge chain grocery store down here). Wtf is going on? Did they label me a shoplifter some how for some reason?.. been trying to just avoid those locations but it makes me not want to go to walmart... but it's freakin walmart... sometimes ya just need something from walmart...

    Just some stuff...
I've read before that certain cell phones can do it, but not sure which ones. Maybe go in again without your cell phone and check it out.

Can do. I just think it's odd that it's only those two locations.. since it started happening, I've frequented the Walmart in the town I go to school in 6 hours away from where I am now and no issues. It also doesn't go off when I walk in

Did you buy a new wallet lately? I was having the same problem as t local store. The store employee told me check my wallet. It still had the anti thief chip in it. Problem solved.

I had that happen to me years ago with a pair of old navy jeans. There was a security tag between the pocket and jeans.

My wife does the same thing at Walmart. We can't figure it out either. I think she has a chip in her head from all the alien experiments. It's the only thing I can think of to explain some of the crazy.

You won't see me emptying my pockets at the entrance of Walmart. o_O

You can follow me to my truck, write down my plate number and call the police if you want.

I'd stop shoplifting if I were you.

You must have a security tag on you somewhere, in my town all the theft scanners are turned off except for Home Depot's

I have noticed that the Walmart I typically go to that their alarm goes off randomly. People will look around confused. In lieu of the alarms they'll post a greeter. The Walmart greeters sometimes ask to see my receipt when I'm departing the store. I smile and say "No thanks!" and continue walking. Haven't been stopped yet.
