While the local dealership was doing my frame swap, the called to tell me that my muffler was rotted out in the rear. They would replace the OEM with OEM parts, for material only, since the old was already off of the vehicle, but at almost $500, I decided against it. Fast forward to today, I was online researching just a normal muffler, without any bells and whistles of deep, rumbling sounds. Advance Auto Parts had this muffler:

    http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...ow-56204/10044603-P?searchTerm=walker+muffler

I also found a discount code for 30% off. TRT30 will get the discount

Then, they are offering free shipping on orders over $75, so I ordered parking light bulbs... I know, just run and buy some, but it saved me $12 more dollars! A penny saved!

On Walker's website, a promotion started yesterday for purchases of mufflers or cats, for prepaid gift cards of up to $80.

    Enhance Your Exhaust Promotion
    http://www.walkerexhaust.com/promotions

My purchase will yield a $30 card, and will have my total purchase at $40.70 plus tax for a part that could have cost me $500 for this muffler. I will weld the new exhaust in myself, so there wont be any labor either. If anyone is in the market for just a normal exhaust without any performance boost, check out this deal!

Thank you for sharing! I ordered one tonight also and used code TRT41 (must be a speed perks member) and saved 40%. Bought a new belt too. I have 155k on my truck and it's never been replaced. Why not. After walker rebate, I only spent $74 on the exhaust and belt.

Could you guys report back to us on the install and your review of the exhaust? If there were any issues and if this muffler exhaust is a good fit. I'm looking to replace my 12 yr old exhaust.
    Thanks!

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
The "description" is literally 2 paragraphs of marketing wank. Enjoy your muffler.

    Pass.

I'll be happy to post a review. Mine shows shipped and should be here by the end of the week. I'm going to have a shop weld it up once it comes in.

Not really sure what you meant here, but the price tag alone will help me enjoy it. If it lasts half as long as the $600 flowmaster that rusted out, I'll be more than happy.

Received the muffler today. Looks like it will fit. I wasn't really happy with the packaging (=none). There was a small amount of bubble wrap around the inlet and exhaust. The exhaust end is dented, not terrible; but doesn't look new. The muffler is also slightly dented, but it doesn't really matter. Getting it welded on tomorrow and will post an update.

Installed today. I am pleased. Once I get to my computer, I will upload some photos. Hwy 12 motorsports did an oustanding job welding it on. Great fit, great (quiet) sound and all at a great price.

I actually don't have mine installed yet. Been working long hours. 7am to 930pm today and back at 7 am tomorrow. Makes it tough to do anything! Lol!

The muffler on my 08 Tacoma rusted out on the outlet right above the pipe. I purchased a Walker replacement muffler and the intermediate pipe and filed for the $30 rebate. I will have about $80 into it after the rebate.

My question is this, did you happen to find a nice looking tip to finish off the end of the pipe? My factory exhaust had a factory chrome tip that appeared to be welded on so I just trashed all the piping. It looks like the Walker outlet is 2.5" OD? Some of these exhaust tips are ridiculously priced, I am not looking to spend $60 for an exhaust tip.

I didn't put a new tip on mine. I still have the factory one but haven't even looked at trying to change mine over. If you have access to a mig welder, you should be able to reuse the old one, but since you got rid of yours, I'm not sure what you could do.

I know this conversation is old, but maybe that gives you guys plenty of long term experience with your Walker Quiet Flows... Looking at replacing my magnaflow setup because I'm tired of the drone--what are your guys' opinions on your Walkers after a few years? Any performance increase/decrease over stock? Any annoying drone? Thanks!

Just an FYI sincey ou asked this question - Walker Makes Dynomax.... The Walker Quiet Flow is the Dynomax quiet flow but cheaper, really is an excellent product but without the marketing hype. Don't have one on my Tacoma now but ran both brands of the Quiet flow on my 4Runners. Adds a little bass, more tone and NO Drone - even on my v8 4Runner in the past:)

Thank you! Are there performance gains with the Walker Quiet Flow? If there aren't any gains, I wonder if I'm better off just putting the stock exhaust back on. I'm one of those weirdos that wants all the performance gains but none of the additional noise...

Cliff Notes: If your doing Just a muffler for power - don't waste your money. If you want power from exhaust mods - cheapest way is either Power Extractors, or Y pipe setup that removes rear cats.

Any exhaust is going to be minimal gains unless you do Cat deletes, or high flow cats - we have 4 cats on our trucks, deleting the rear two, and getting a better Y-pipe will give you Far more power increase than a muffler will, however combine those and you will notice seat of the pants and will increase power on the dyno. If you get any power with just a muffler change it would be like 5ish HP Max and is not noticable honestly. I typically do it for a "tone" change not really for power. When I am looking for power will do Downpipes - URD extractors, AFE, or Thorley - I have had excellent luck with Thorley in the past and URD as well, but would probalby go Thorley this time, and then I'll get the highest Y-pipe that deletes the rear cats. If you want power - the full URD setup is hard to beat as it's all matched and each part compliments each other, but it's like 1200+ last I checked.

Thanks! I have been running a DT Y-pipe that routes the driver side around the back of the transfer case and replaces 2 of the cats for resonators. Honestly I bought the DT more for clearance than performance. I can't say I had noticed huge gains when a ran this y-pipe with my stock muffler, but I also didn't get any noticeable drone or much change in the exhaust noise at all. That changed when I went to a MBRP pass through with a turn down right before the rear axle. The drone was awful. I then had my local muffler shop weld me up a magnaflow pass-through and a vibrant ultra quiet resonator, and I bolted that all up to the DT Y-pipe. That made it better, but there's still a drone and I'm pretty much over it. While I still haven't noticed huge gains, I'm assuming that there are some so I was hoping I might keep the vibrant, replace the magnaflow with a walker quiet flow, kill the drone and keep some of the performance gains. From what you're saying though, I'm starting to lean towards hitting up the junk yards for a stock muffler.
