Need a new tire to replace my Falken Wildpeaks, and the Vredestein Pinza AT's popped up on Tire Rack with seemingly really good reviews. It looks like they're new to the US scene, and the price isn't bad. They are backordered though.

Anyone try, or have experience with these tires?

    Never heard of them

The next set of tires I will get will be another set of yokohama g015 or michelins

Wally World has the hankook ATM tires on sale

Right now my truck has the newer pirelli AT tires and now that they're half dead they won't stay in balance and ride rough as hell

Those have remarkably good reviews for such an average looking tire.

Have used Bridgestones, Michelins (never again), Goodyears, and BFGs for the past three times. A couple of friends suggested General Grabber ATXs. I really like them, even better than the KO2s. I have winter tires (Nokian Hakkapellitta LT3s, which are awesome). I live where we can have any weather any month of the year, LITERALLY; eg snow in July or 75°F (24°C) in January, so a tire that works in any weather is important to me. I find the Generals to be quieter than the KO2s with better traction in the ice, snow, and slush. Plus, if I wanted, they are studdable.

Hmmm... never heard of them but apparently they are a Netherlands based company seems kind neat and not the weird no-name Chinese brands.

Prices on the Falkens have shot up a lot since the pandemic too... used to be around $600 for my set now I'm at closer to $900 or more.

I just wanted to try something new that i can use in the Snow/Offroad in Baja and around town. I'm here in the Tahoe region and do a fair amount of fire road, dispersed camping.. .but still end up on the highway often. Got a killer deal, about $450 less than the K02's, figured WTH.. if i hate them i can buy a new tire.

I've probably only put 500 miles on them, but so far so good. These replaced a set of 265/75/16 K02's... Current thoughts:

    - Road Noise, Significant reduction
    - Road ride, feels smoother. Which is to be expected with the less aggressive tread pattern
    - Off-road, I have yet to get them out on some dirt, its snowy season here.
    - Snow, these are solid tires. Deepest so far is about 12-15" and they seem to have some good bite and hold well.
    - Ice, haven't felt there is any major loss of traction.
    - Over all look, I sized back to Tacoma factory sizing - 265/70/16 - and they definitely seem to be visually smaller, but still have a more aggressive look than some of the stock options. Even though its really only an inch in size.

So far, I'm happy with the fact that i save ~$400 and got a tire warranty at 70k vs the K02 50k. I definitely don't expect to get 70k, as I feel I'll need to replace them sooner to maintain the winter traction i need... But overall signs point to being a solid tire.

I have been reading good things about these too. Any challenges balancing them?

Vredestein is a popular tire manufacturer in the early air cooled Porsche scene where good 15" tires are getting harder to find. I had them on my 57. Popular for the quality and vintage looking tread patterns. They are considered 'high end' mainly due to the price. Common complaint there is rocks get caught in the tight tread pattern and kicked up on the rear / lower fenders.

I also saw these on Tire Rack last night while looking for tires for my Tacoma.

I had the Vredestein Pinza ATs installed this afternoon. Ratings on Tire Rack seem good so I decided to roll the dice and give them a try. We'll see how it goes.

Maybe I'm imagining it but the first thing I noticed is that it looks like a pretty thin tire. I had to double check the sidewall to be sure that these really are 265s. My stock 265 Goodyear Wrangler kevlar tires seems wider.

I've been wanting to raise our 2020 TRD ORDC a bit (without a lift kit) and since a local-ish tire chain, Les Schwab sells these for considerably less than the K/O's and some others I was looking so they're a candidate. Was considering going to a 17" wheel to raise it up a bit but the Vredestein Pinza AT 265/75R16 will fit the OEM wheels and raise it about an inch. Not a lot, but taller and than the OEM highway tires it has now and I'm sure they'd do better in the rain and snow.

One thing I do like about the highway tires is that they are über quiet and ride very smooth. Wondering how these do at freeway speeds?

FWIW I'm not going with a lift kit and 33's or whatever since the wife wants to be able to get in and out without performing any acrobatics. Rarely go off roading either. Just want a slightly taller stance and more aggressive looking tires that'll handle the rain and snow that we get in the NW.

Thanks for all of the comments and the updates @tkblueberry1 as well as the photos @tstad9i (beautiful truck BTW)!

Haven't pulled the trigger yet though so any additional feedback would be welcome.

    TIA!

Oddly enough, just last weekend I was on the highway @ 75mph in my econobox car running Yokohama AVID LX 215/50-17s. All season tire that I've been perfectly happy with, not noisy at all. I remember thinking to myself that these things are louder than the Pinzas on the truck. Probably not a fair comparison, it's a much smaller tire also on 17s with not much sidewall between the road and the rim.

The Vreddys have been pretty quiet so far even at freeway speeds. First time buying anything all-terrain (other than the Wrangler's that came with the truck), I thought they would be much louder just looking at them. Hopefully they don't get crazy loud when they age like other tires I've had on cars in the past. Can't wait for the weekend, heading out to the dry riverbed to get that 10 mi 4x4 maintenance run for the month. Ya mon!
