Does anyone have the Viofo Dash Cam installed on their 3rd Gen Taco? Trying to research
and decide what is a good system to install, most likely including a rear camera also. So far,
looked at Car & Driver's 2024 Cam reviews and looked at VIOFO A139 PRO 2ch, and
    FITCAMX systems.
Any thoughts and usage of different Mfgrs systems is appreciated.

I have A119's, A129's in four different cars. They work as advertised. The longest one I have owned since August of 2022 is used in my Wife's daily driver. That one is still going strong. I had a Rexing in my Taco that ate the SD card around the 1 year mark and replaced it with a Viofo. The newest generation of Viofo's mount easily to the Tacoma's Gopro mount.

I went with (I believe) an A129 dual channel (front and rear). I’ve had it about 2 years and so far so good.

I don’t believe my ‘21OR has the GoPro mirror mount, so went with the included clear film and stuck it to the windshield.

Let me know if you have any questions.

My hatchback has an A129 plus duo. My Tacoma has a Rexing. Of the two, plus a few others I went through and gave away, I like the Viofo the best.

I have the Gopro mount in mine. But used the film in the three other cars. Works great!

NextBase 522, records in 4K (impressive resolution, actually) and can attach 2 rear-view cameras (in-cab mainly for people and remote-attach to look directly out the rear-window instead of in-cab). Probably has a backup camera option as well, if I look.

It corrupts the SD card every couple of months requiring reformat, but writing at 4k all of the time is intensive.

I installed a Viofo A129 Plus Duo on my Taco. From the sounds of it, Viofo is more of the budget oriented dashcam especially compared to Blackvue, but is still a solid product which is why I ultimately went with them. On top of that, I did like the form factor more than the others on the market.

Good point and one I failed to mention. Compact, unobtrusive front and rear cams with a screen (albeit small) should I need it for playback. One touch (no voice command) video lock.

First of all, I want to Thank all of you with your responses and reviews and thoughts of what you have. Seems like Viofo is a safe and inexpensive bet.
On my '23 Sport, there's no GoPro mount like in some of the other model years so, I'll have to use the tape film to attach then decide where to put the
    rear camera.
Again, Thank You all for your replies.

Do the viofo cams work off the rear view mirror power? I know only a limited about of power can be supplied from the rear view mirror usb adapters.

Been looking for a dash cam that lets me connect to it remotely but my requirement is I can continue to power it from the rear view mirror.

I can’t say for sure as I went with an add-a -fuse from the drivers side interior fuse box. From there it was a fairly easy route up the driver’s side A pillar to the rear view mirror area.

The VIOFO I went with (and maybe all of them, not sure) power the rear cam from the front cam, so then just another run down the A, under the front and back door sills and up the C.

I can't find any information online about the Viofo cameras working with the GoPro mount. Does the camera have a 1/4-20 threaded option behind the mounting plate or is there a separate plate adapter required that my Google-fu has so far been unable to locate? Also, which models work with the GoPro mount? I really need to find a replacement for the GoPro Hero 9 I've been using as the Texas heat doesn't allow the GoPro to operate more than 15-20 minutes before shutting down and I'd like to still use my heat shield when parking so quickly removing the dashcam using the mount would be a great option.

There are 3d printed adapters. I mounted mine before I had such a printer - I think I found something closeish on Etsy and then kludged it to fit.

Thank you. Somehow I always forget about Etsy.
