Hey all. Searched but didn't find any info. Has anyone removed the vinyl on the door pillars between the front and rear doors of the double cab?

Can you post up a photo please?

Thinking of removing it from my taco. Hate that you see every single finger print on it. Not even sure why the put the vinyl there.

I got quite a few scratches on mine so I leave it on because I don’t want scratches all over my paint.

Pulled mine off the day I brought the truck home, little over two years ago.

I searched for "pillar vinyl". Nothing. Maybe I had some filter on my search.

    Thanks.

I hit a tree branch over the Summer and it scratched that vinyl badly, I am thankful it's there as it would have torn the paint up badly.

You can buy small sheets of 3M vinyl on ebay. It's pretty easy to apply and then trim with an exacto. I did it on another car.

I left mine on. helps prevent static electricity (shock) when closing the door. ☺️

Left mine on cause thats usually where I grab the door to close it. Just extra protection.

Two + years old. 35.5K miles. Not a mark on it. Still looks brand new. What the hell are you guys doing to your trucks??

After there caps got ripped off... I just removed the plastic inserts and plastic top. This is all the metal Toyota puts in the rear. Smh.

I took mine off. The vinyl scratches because it is so soft and has a matte finish. Mine was scratched from branches after only a few hours off-road on reasonably open trails. The paint underneath seems way more durable, and running the same roads has not scratched it noticeably. For sure the vinyl is protecting the paint underneath, but if the vinyl looks all scratched up all the time, I’m not sure you are gaining anything.

Personally, I think the vinyl is just a stylistic choice. You either like the way it looks or you don’t. I could really go either way, but prefer the more utilitarian, no nonsense look of it removed.
