After some product testing in Colorado (first video in the series here...) Victory 4x4 is proud to release our steel Transfer Case skid for 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas. They are 100% pure beef, made from 3/16" steel, and include both a drop skid for stock exhaust, and a block off plate for re-routes. My favorite part about this skid is how nicely the ramp to the back and sides slides over rocks without catching up on random brackets or the frame of the truck.

Because we love ya, use the coupon code TACOMAWORLD to save 5% on your first order

I wish it was aluminum as well, no corrosion and less heavy.

Not currently. Weight savings was not the goal in the design of this skid, ultimate protection and capability was.
Sure, the ~25lb savings in aluminum would be nice, but the hardness of steel is worth the weight for skids and bumpers in our opinion.

In the Midwest we can't run raw aluminum as it will still oxidize and start looking gross. I guess that doesn't matter as much with skids.

That's why we include the smooth block off plate for those that get rid of the silly exhaust drop.

I'm glad you added it I guess but there are a lot of skid plate designs that protect the silly exhaust and are smooth all the way back, no hang ups.

always glad to see more options though. GLWS's

Are you only selling them to the Midwest population?? My brother lives in upstate NY and has a 2010 Tacoma with aluminum skid plate and never a problem, winter months they swim on salt LOL. To your advantage, steel is easy to work with and cost efficient than aluminum. Anyways, good product man GLWS!!

Those skids don't let you get a flatter belly when you decide to do a re-route though. You pretty much have to make your exhaust decisions before you buy a skid. I left my factory exhaust for the product testing and never really had an issue with it hanging up either. Slid over anything I smashed it into.

Raw aluminum builds a thin oxide layer which is cool because it protects the aluminum underneath and crappy because it's an ugly white powder. You can easily polish it off; or clearcoat or anodize the aluminum so it doesn't happen.

This doesn't really apply to skids because who cares if they have oxide on them, and thus us having this conversation at all is my fault

I think thats what makes your product very innovative and different from the rest. However, a re-route is a super easy and cheap modification and only provides about 1" additional clearance, it's not exactly a tough decision, but I think'ts unfair to say others dont give a smooth belly, there are many products that offer flat bellys for both reroutes and stock exhaust.

Dont get me wrong its a cool product but its a bit gimmicky to me.

That said I do think its pretty cool that you angled it up into the frame in the back. I have seen nothing like that before.

It's the slope up on the back that I like most about this design. All the other sikds out there loose some ground clearance on that back end and under the transmission cross member.

I'd rather have the clearance to not hit something vs. Drag over it

I just ran across the Finding Bigfoot video on Youtube last night. I had no idea I had already responded to this thread and that this picture has to be from that video until now, am I right? My wife and I thought the video was funny.
