vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

You can read the Stock file, but there's nothing useful there. The Stock tune is in the vF installation folder.

 

I've got to be missing something is that an option only available in the "Pro" software?

 

That was on the old Flash Tool. Doesn't exist anymore.

 

Don’t know if any of you guys were ever Honda fan boi but VF reminds me a lot CROME and old burn to edit ROM chips. I’ve got spoiled playing with Holley stuff it’s like crayons and coloring books compared to messing with stock ecu tuning. Neat program though I’m excited to get my hands on the tune pack and editor.

 

This is my first flash tune experience. It was a lot of learning, but I kinda liked it along with the evolution of the tunes and new features.

I did drop a premade chip in my bike. Supposedly the software was easy, if you could burn chips.


I did try to figure out ECUFlash for our Subaru and gave up.

 

Chrome. burning chips. Erasing chips with UV light (not honda, but some others). I was a tuner ..well still am, for 10+ years before building vF Tuner so it is inspired by many different tuning suites I used day to day.

I think we've got nearly all pending tune packs sent as of about 10 mins ago.

 

with vf tune update do we need to update drivers for open port or they still the same

 

The updated Tactrix drivers are in the Help menu.

I thought the editor/3D tables looked familiar obviously this is your own just funny you mention that. I pretty sure I have my burner tucked away somewhere man the struggle was real back than no support and open source softwear haha.

 

Sounds like this particular update isn’t critical for us, but just in general, what is the way to go about updating VF? Is there an update option in the software? Or do we click the website download link and run the .exe all over again and it’ll install over the old one and not ask for a master key again?

 

Yes. Nothing critical for us.

Yes. Just download and install. No need to do anything else.

Ran into an issue for no known reason (perhaps a windows update but??) I reported this to zendesk as ticket #24846 but I know they are busy. If anyone knows if ther eis a user-side "try this" for the problem please let me know.

Today when starting VFTuner I received the warning "License Information is broken or does not exist". I used the software this week and up until now never had a license issue.

Here were my next steps:
1) I needed to update the software to the latest version (1.2.9.8) so I figured it was time to get current if I have to reinstall. Downloaded and installed.
2) Started VFTuner and once again received the license error from above.
3) Dug up my old reg key and applied.
4) Started VFTuner and once again received the license error from above.
5) Ensured my firewall/virus scanner are properly disabled.
5) Rebooted.
6) Ran through all the reinstall and reg key steps once more.
7) Started VFTuner and once again received the license error from above.
8) Accepted the error screen and attempted to re-key my master key, email, password,ect.
9) Received "Installation count with this Master Key exceeded the maximum".

Until now I do not think I ever installed my software more than once but I am seemingly locked out. I am a little concerned this just stopped working and seems to have lot the license but I have all my original data and just need to get running again to get into the new version.

I will patiently await OVTune help through the proper channel but if there is a thought I could resolve this sooner please shout out.

 

There's nothing that you can do. OVT will have to reset you on his side.

 

Ok so this might be a silly question but....

I got everything installed connected did the flash and everything went great! I think.... how do I know the flash is on there is there a way to see? Is there like an ID somewhere currently I just did the regular /33 tune

Just drive it.... You will know.

 

Holy heck I didn’t realize how much a difference you would feel it’s very obvious now .... how obvious is the difference between reg and 91

 

a bit more subtle.

feels a bit smoother on 91 than 87 IMO. A little more peak power as well
