Venturous Ozark Tops/Caps

Does anybody know much about, or have any experience with, Venturous Ozark caps? As someone That is currently in the market for a cap, it seems pretty intriguing.

No pricing anywhere on any of those links that I could find. Interesting topper until the msrp is $8k+

 

Yeah, none of the dealer sites listed on Venturous' website list prices, but the New Atlas link above does have the following:

"With a base price of US$3,495, the Ozark is more expensive than standard composite toppers from the likes of Leer and ARE but less expensive than heavy-duty options like the $3,995 RSI SmartCap Evo Adventure or $3,995 GFC Platform Topper. Venturous held an official debut at the 2023 SEMA Show earlier this month and now offers the Ozark for a variety of popular midsize and full-size trucks through a US-wide dealership network."

 

Base plus tax and install will be over 4k. slightly under the RSI.

 

I was perusing the web checking the venturous site. And couldn’t help but notice the finger? rakes down the side of the bed of this truck. Starts at the passenger door.

nice caps though. I would something lightweight.

I think my ARE was $2300 or so installed. It won't carry 750 pounds driving down the road but who wants 750 pounds on your roof? Seems that would make it seriously top heavy and unstable. Remember, you can pull more than you can carry.

 

750lbs on the roof will take turns like 1500lbs in the bed.

 

I spoke with the dealer here in the Atlanta area and the launch edition promotion price is $2950.00 before tax and install. I’m looking at purchasing a shell and so far this sounds like a good option.

 

Yeah, I just pulled the trigger on that Launch Edition promotion as well. I didn't get a very detailed estimated delivery date, but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless!

 

The dealer here mention 6-10 weeks I think. Not completely sure if I hear him right.

 

I know it's relatively new, but I'm still surprised at how little information is out there on these. I would have thought there would be at least another thread on here or something. Hopefully it's as good as I'm expecting and I'll be happy to post pictures and give an honest review once it's installed.

 

I was hoping to have mine for an event on the first weekend of May. This is not the news I was hoping to hear this morning from my retailer:

"They did a test fit of the 6’ Tacoma. Your unit and a stock one are first and second to be built. She said they expect that the mold may be ready by March 8th. That being said, May 1st is unlikely based on the mold not being ready and transfer from Kansas to Indiana plants."

 

I just ordered one today as I didn't want to pass up on the launch deal which ends Wednesday. I was told 8-12 weeks lead time.

 

Any feedback on this topper? I am looking for lightweight topper options.

 

So far I love it. It took about 10 weeks to come in. The inside is white with no headliner, but it is smooth. Looking to add a Sherpa Crow's Nest rack on it and a 23 Zero A2 RTT.

 

Any idea of the total weight of the topper?

 

I never had it weighed so I don't have an exact weight.
It is said to be 38% lighter than the competition. If an ARE for a full/mid size truck with a 5' bed is 175 lbs then that would put it at 108.5 lbs so it could possibly under 150 lbs.
