Hello first post here new member. I enjoy what I've seen so far, i'm getting really good mod ideas for my 2015 DCLB Tacoma. But here is one I haven't seen. My previous vehicle had ventilated seats, and man it's sooo nice to have on long trips. I know Tacoma's don't have them yet but the Platinum Tundra does.

Here is the question. What are the chances of getting one of those seats or the module the cools or vents the seat, inputed in my Tacoma seat? Maybe it might be better swapping a taco seat for a tundra seat? Any ideas on how I can get myself ventilated seats for my taco? I'm sure someone sometime soon will come up with something so why not start brainstorming now.

    Thanks

I pretty sure Tundra seats are a fair bit wider the Tacoma so don't think a direct transfer would work, they have a fan under the seat to send up the cold air so could always get that put into a taco seat, but I image the vented seats are designed to allow more air flow. Could make it easy and just get the 12v seat covers that have built in cooling haha.

The guy I bought my '15 from had the dealer install the Katzkin 2-tone perforated leather front & back with heated / cooled up front. $2300 (ouch for him). The ventilated seat is seriously my favorite thing about the truck right now though, and it's not even very hot in Utah yet.

Hey RyanL, what parts/system was used to achieve cooled seats, do you know? Looking for a way to integrate on my 2016.

It's from Katskinz. All it is is a fan installed under the perforated replacement seat upholstery.

So in this Katskinz deal, there is no acutal AC or heat venting into the seat, just airflow, correct?

It's rare to find a true A/C seat (If they even exist) Most of them are ventilated seats which means there is a fan integrated under the leather for ventilation.

Not sure TBH. I know Mercedes uses 4 fans in the bottom cushion and 2 in the back cushion

It's a different foam cushion, perforated leather seat cover, a heat coil for warm and a fan for cool.

I tried to find the specifics on how the cooling is set up but no luck. One thing I read made it look like the fan is piped up to the seat back as well as the bottom but I can't find any official docs on it.
@jhuey8947 should know, if we can get him to chime in.
