Did you use 24” or 26” slides for your fridge?

Anyone on here go with a fridge and stove slide? Does it make it awkward to get into the fridge with the stove slide?

I have a Goose Gear camp kitchen (2.2?, I think). It does not interfere with the fridge as the stove is on a second slide under the fridge slide. I would say be careful what fridge you get though, I had to move the fridge lid hinges to the other side so I could open it since the stove slide raises the fridge up several inches.

I’m planning on doing my own version with a SoCal fridge slide and 80/20. I was just curious if it is more gimmick than useful.

I think it's useful. As mentioned, my only issue was the height that it put the fridge at, but my fridge is a National Luna 50L fridge/freezer combo so it's not exactly small

Honestly, I never really slide my fridge at all. I think if I were to do it again I would have skipped it.

-Quick drinks/snacks are usually grabbed when the tailgate is closed

-I used the tailgate as my cooktop/kitchen which usually means it's covered in food and cutting boards blocking where it would have slid out

I do think the DIY slide is very much in everyone's skill set if you can use a ruler and a power drill. Way cheaper too

Keeping the fridge as low as possible is key. Keeps it useful as a bench seat. It's my favorite spot to sit in the camper.

This was my thought process as well. I didn't want the extra weight and footprint of a slide, on top of trying to keep it low.

Having mine in the driver's rear corner of the bed with the hinges on the aisle side gives me the ability to get into it from inside and outside, from the tailgate or the side windoor.
And then it's perfect height to be part of the bench seat, yeah.
Plus, just having it strapped down in that spot makes it super quick and convenient to remove and have that much extra open bed space for hauling junk around when needed.
No regrets about that decision, whatsoever.

Alternative opinion (there's obviously no "right" way here): I use my homemade fridge slide very, very frequently. Multiple times a day. Crucial for my routine.

All these different builds are what makes things interesting!

Awning mounted on the drivers side or passenger side… which is better and why? Trying to decide and looking for some input…
    Thx.

I prefer mine drivers side. If you parallel park and want to use your awning then passenger side is best

You could put brackets on both sides so you can swap it based on your needs. This won’t work with those 180/270 styles, just the standard straight pull out type. I’m having the guys put brackets on both sides just for this reason.

For campgrounds in USA I find that its more convenient to have it on the passenger side if you back in. If you pull forward then drivers side is the way to go. I have mine on the drivers side and its unusable at most camp sites when backing in.

Totally agree! I don't have any interior buildout besides my fridge/stove slide as I don't "hang out" inside the Drifter when camping. I also almost always have my tailgate down when at camp so fridge access is open to anyone at camp.
I am always amazed though at the kick ass buildouts folks put together for their needs.

does anyone know if I can run any additional lights off of the dimmer switches in the back panel? could they handle the load/draw of something like BD S1s (20W / 1.45A)?

Pop the panel off and take a good photo of the label(s) on the dimmer modules back there...
