So just had a bit of knocking under light acceleration. 11k miles. Took it in and they said vacume pump was failing. No check engine light. Are there problems this can cause? Should I be looking out for anything else in the future? Anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks

I have a similar issue in mine as well. After it warms up and I accelerate up a small hill, only going about 40mph, I hear something that sounds similar to an exhaust leak (or it could be knocking as well). No status lights. Dealership couldn't duplicate....of course.

Yeah. Under warranty. Just got it fixed. There is a TSB for the vacume pump so it must be a known issue. Just wondering if there is engine trouble this problem could cause later?

Do you have the TSB number?

Only .5 hrs allowed on Tacoma.

    Must be easy peasy.

OP. By the TSB text it seems the noise is the pump itself (not the engine).

If that's the case, I'd not suspect any future problems related. Ie, no ancillary issues.
