V6 cylinder numbers?

Can anyone tell me which cylinders are which on my new to me 2005 v6 tacoma? Just got it today, and on the way home the check engine light came on, cylinder 4 misfire is the code. Fearing the worst, head gaskets... But I want to check out cylinder 4 and swap the coil pack to be sure. Thanks all

Sure hoping so. Original seller acts like he had no idea this was happening so we will see. Swapping plug and coil now.. Plug appears to be in perfect shape.. Any other troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated thanks guys!

 

Pulling plugs/ coils one at a time while the engine is running would be the easiest way to check. When you pull the plug or coil and it makes the engine idle worse then it's probably not that coil or plug.

 

this is the firing order for a 3.4L but is it the same for the 4.0 on a 2nd gen?

 

Toyota same for all v6 as far as I know.

My 2005 4.0 V-6 just came out of the shop last week after having the Head Gaskets done. I never had an engine light come on. After driving the truck to work or home from work I could hear the coolant boiling in the over flow tank it would fill the over flow tank and spill out. When it would spill out I would find a white residue. You can also check the over flow tank and see if it is turning a dark color from the exhaust escaping into the coolant.
