So after doing some trimming and cutting of the fender flares the main part that really bothers me is all the mud and dirt flying into the door/hinges… recently some water has been leaking a bit past the door seals (mind you I live in Canada and we have some pretty shitty weather sometimes). So I was thinking of using spray foam to fill that empty part and maybe try to close it up some how.
I know you can either buy or make your own fenders liners, but I feel like it can also rip off, and foam will harden up and just stick there. Is there anyone that tried it? I will be doing it as soon as I have a good weather and time…

p.s maybe someone know a good quality product out there that can fill those empty spaces.

I wouldn't. Soaks up and holds water/salt. Look at all the rotted wheels on Chevy/GMC. They all had spray foam between box sides and inner wheelwells. That's what cause them to rot out. Same with cab corners, on them and older Fords.

My fenders are pretty chopped. I just used the factory foam thing, trimmed it, hit with some spray glue, glued it in. Nothing on my doors or hinges.

Not the best pic but you get the idea.

That gave me some ideas thanks!

No problem. Now I have to investigate what that oil splatter is. Hopefully just the tri-flow I may have liberally applied the night before. :fingerscrossed:

Seems like spray foam and water intrusion is a recipe for rust and probably some pretty good smells after a while.

Is this a result of doing a viper cut?

I actually did this on my old 4runner (1985). It worked great for many years... actually improved the rust situation. I just made sure the water had a place to drain.
I cut the fenders, filled with foam, rolled herculiner on the exposed foam and then painted to match the truck.

What about closed cell spray foam?
