I have a 2012 Base 2.7l 4x4 115k miles that sagged a good amount with 10 bags of 50lb wood pellets in it (500lbs). I am thinking that it may need some new leaf springs, as it also bounces a fair amount in the rear over bumps.

On CL nearby are some leaf springs with 3 leafs plus the fourth shorter one on the bottom. Mine have only 2 leafs with the one shorter one on bottom. I know the truck it came off was a v6 2006. Does it matter? I do not a lift, just for the ability to handle more weight and improve the ride.

Anything I should know or find out?

    Thanks,

14 year old springs are gonna be just as beat as yours. Find some takeoffs from a 3rd gen.

Thanks for input... I forgot to mention these used springs were new in 10/17 when frame was replaced, and the were used for about 1 year before being taken off... so they are only about 1 year old.

IS there a difference btwn 3rd gen and 2nd gen, other than age?

Then they would be a decent replacement, if the price is right.

Good to know... I am wondering if these would be a slightly more expensive but better fit and guaranteed not to be compromised already:

    2005 - 2015 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 / Prerunner Heavy Duty rear leaf spring, 4(3/1) leaves $169 each

Those are a solid option, just be aware that's the price per each, not a pair.

Yeah, maybe worth it, as it looks like would increase payload over OEM.

The $100 for shipping makes it a bit less appealing...
    $442.40

Just installed those springs on my 12 double cab 6 ft. bed SR5 last weekend. So far I like them. My truck had the 4 leaf pack to start but the third leaf broke on both sides. These springs are heavier than the stock springs and lifted my rear end even with a cap. In a few weeks I will start a thread reviewing these springs (after they have settled).

Do the 3rd gen rear springs lift a 2nd gen?

Look forward to hearing how these new leaf spring are Hugh Morron.

I am gonna keep looking on CL and see what comes up, will plan on doing leaf and front and rear struts. I am not looking for lift, are the front coil overs different for V6 and I4?

Good news, just bought the suspension off 2019 TRD front coilovers, rear shocks and leaf springs, with less that 5k miles for $250. Any sense if there will need to be any other mods on the ECGS bushing, or diff drop or carrier bearing (tbh, I don't know what any of these are, just reading about them in the lift sections).

Now for some PB Blaster time...
