Got a 2019 taco and an iPhone X that used to be able to play music directly through the usb lightning connector. After I updated my iPhone to the newest IOS 14, every time I try playing Spotify while connected to the usb connector it says, “There are no music files to playable.” I also updated entunes but still ain’t working. Bluetooth still works but I like the sound quality when connected directly with the usb lightning better. Don’t think an iPhone X is too outdated for the system...any ideas?

I'd be more willing to bet it is something on Apple's end

Apple is always having issues, especially after an update to their OS. Try deleting your phone from the head unit and removing the truck from your phone. Then pair the two together again.

I haven't experienced any issues since the last Apple IOS update and keep my phone plugged into the USB port almost all of the time. I do use ApplePlay to play any apps on the phone however.

Bluetooth still works. Unless you’re saying there’s a way to disconnect from the physical connection, which I have no idea how to do

Had a slow moment. If it's an OEM cable from apple, try another one. If it's not OEM, then try an OEM cable. That would be my only suggestion as apple and I don't play well together. If that doesn't work then I'm sure others will be able to assist you more than I can.

After some research what I found was a lot of guys fixed that part with the better apple cable. It’s a thicker cable that goes from usb type c to lighting. Then you grab a type c to big boy USB adapter and it solved it for me. I can connect my 11 or my wife’s also my daughters se works fine with it now. I’m not using the same hu as you 3rd gen guy’s I’m running a kenwood 907s but the problem was the same.

SOLVED: There are no songs available for playback. Please add compatible files to your iPod.

Apple CarPlay requires at least 1 song in Apple Music Library to recognize your device using USB. I purchased and downloaded 1 song from iTunes Store and USB is now working with Spotify, etc.

I had similar issue, turned out it was my phone socket, worked fine after I cleaned it out, dust and lint. Hope it’s that easy for you.

my 2015 (stock stereo unit) just started doing this as well. Bluetooth works. Lightning cable swap to OEM did not clear the issue. Delete and reintroduce did not fix the issue. Gonna add a beefier cable (USB-C stepped down) and see what gives. Phone port is clean, wife's iPhoneX did the exact same thing as my SE. Ugh.

Hopefully SOLVED. A buddy of mine plugged HIS iPhone in and it worked fine. So, he recommended I install Apple Music app to my phone. Did. Now it works as it did. Not sure why. Not sure I care. Try it.

I just purchased my truck two weeks ago, and I am having the exact same issue. I spent the morning at the dealership, for them just to tell me that they don’t know what’s wrong with it. And that it because it’s a 2019, it doesn’t have in tune/CarPlay. I just tried downloading Apple Music check, it didn’t seem to help. Would really like to know what to do,

Not sure if it’s worth mentioning, but I had a 2020 Camry prior to this truck, and it worked just fine. Same cord same phone

Sounds funny, but download Apple Music app onto your new phone. Even tho I don’t use Apple Music, all my Spotify crap came back. Worked for me

HOW I SOLVED IT AFTER A YEAR:

Make sure you have the “ITunes Music” app.
You have to buy a song and have it downloaded to your phone. This way it will recognize the phone as an “ipod.”

After buying one song and downloading it you can go back to spotify and use it. Don’t delete the downloaded song or the ITunes Music.

Making it clear i fixed it by downloading “ITunes Music” NOT “Apple Music”
