Wanted to install my Y pipe this afternoon and ran into few issues. Below is a comparison to the stock one
    20190226_151405.jpg
Currently I have JBA long tube headers and magnaflow exhaust installed. The stock pipe came off almost hastle free, the 02 sensors were a bit of a pain to get off though. So the new pipe mounts up to the exhaust and right header just fine. But it doesnt reach the left header because it is rubbing on the front portion of the driveshaft

Now I'm not sure if it is because of the headers or the 6 inch lift I have on the truck. Has anyone else had this issue, or has any suggestions on how to get it to fit?

It’s the 6” lift. Doesn’t it drop the drive shaft down?

I didn't see the shaft before the install but i believe It does. Ironically I noticed an issue with the shaft bracket just passed the end of the Y pipe where it was installed wrong.

What good do washers do below the brackets? Lol this cause the driveshaft to have a bend that has cause a nagging vibration I couldnt pinpoint until now. Reversed the washers and the issue was gone.

Anyways, if the lift is an issue what are my options?

I think urd had 2 versions of the ypipe? 2wd and 4wd

Any chance you got a urd prerunner ypipe instead of the 4wd one?

You could always cut and extend the pipe to clearance your driveshaft or have you favorite exhaust shop do it. Be a shame to hack up URD's mandrel bent and TIG welded goodness, though.

The drop bracket lift causes the front driveshaft clearance issue. Had the same problem more than 10 years ago. Due to the routing of the URD Y-pipe.

The description at urd doesn't list any limitations of the pipe and states it can be used for both 2WD and 4WD, also says its mean for street or offroad racing so I would imagine it would fit with a lift. I'm not sure I wanna cut the pipe but instead see if there could possibly be a 2inch extension for the left header.

It does fit with lifts. Just not drop bracket lifts, or any lift which lowers the front diff.

I brought this up to them, back then. It needs to be annotated. I even have it posted in one of the first few post of my build thread.

As far as I'm aware the only one that doesnt lower the front diff are body lifts, which have little functionality lol I'll see if a local shop can fab up something to make it fit

any lift beside a drop bracket does not touch the front differential.

Is that just an indication that the lift is cheap? Lol the problem I ran into with the mid drop bracket earlier in the post was because I went from a 3inch to a 6inch lift last year. According to the shop the new lift didnt have drop bracket and it was left on from the previous lift, I'm curious if the drop bracket can be eliminated

it's not a cheap lift per se, but many do not prefer it for various reasons. it's the only way to lift an IFS truck 6" and keep the CV angles at bay. Alot of the offroaders do not like the drop bracket lifts because it leaves alot of the undercarriage exposed to damage and nobody really makes skid plates for trucks with the drop bracket lift.

Most people are happy with a 3" lift.

To go back to stock you'd have to weld in the front crossmember that was cut out.
