Will OEM Tacoma 2018 upper control arms from a 4Runner fit my 2009 Tacoma?
I've done some research and some say the ball join tis different but an Ebay sellers lists them for both Tacoma and 4Runner.

I believe the taper on the ball joint stem is different hence why they have different part numbers. That stated if you are looking at UCA's (aftermarket) that use a straight bolt then it wont matter - But i wouldnt be buying off branded stuff on ebay for that purpose.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/154588213509

He said thy came off of a Tacoma with 2k miles. Just no sure why they are listed for 4Runner too?? Any way to tell if these are correct fit for my '09 Taco?

When I lifted my 19 4Runner, everything looked exactly the same as it did on my 08 Tacoma, to my eyes anyway. If I still have the UCAs from my Taco, I'll compare them to what came off of my 4Runner. When I was looking at aftermarket UCAs, everyone had different part numbers for the 4Runner and Tacoma, except JBA.

The UCAs from my 2019 4Runner (left) and 2008 Tacoma (right). To the naked eye, they look compatible to me :notsure:

The bottom line is the P/Ns are different between the two, so the only thing I'd be be concerned about is ensuring the ones he's selling you are indeed off a Tacoma and NOT a 4Runner. No way in hell I'm listening to some random yahoo on ebay to tell me that they are compatible just because they "look" similar. From the photos @replica9000 provided you can see that while the arms/bushings look the same (or similar), the ball joints do not. There's plenty of folks selling (or giving away) Tacoma UCA takeoffs that you shouldn't have to deal with this kind of Mickey Mouse stuff.

Check the actual shank of the ball joint, from what i have read they are tapered differently between 4 runner and tacoma.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Shear angle is different on the ball joints. Same reason the spindles/knuckles are different. If you swap the ball joint then no problem.
