Just wondering if I'm just a lone wolf or not. Took the truck into the deal today for front end squeak. Dealer called saying it's the front right control arm bushing and that they are ordering a new set to replace them. I asked if they were worn or looked damaged and they said no but they are going to replace them under warranty anyways. 100% stock wheel, tire, and suspension 17 DCOR. Maybe time for Total Chaos UCA's? I spoke with the tech in person and said I wasn't the first to come in with this issue. Truck has 7100 miles on it also had to have the carrier bearing replaced at 5k because it was leaking the dampening fluid out of the mount.

First time I've heard of this problem. In fact it's the first problem I've really heard of on the 3rd gens. I think most of them are perfect vehicles. You must just be having some bad luck.

Some 2016s had the same or similar issues with bad bushings in the front end and body mounts. Wonder if it's a quality control issue from supplier or at factory (bad install job) causing this.

I'll see if I can snap some pictures of them when they remove them I asked the Tech if they looked worn he told me that I wasn't the first 17 to come in with them making noise. When he looked at them they don't appear to be worn it looks like the rubber they used is not up to par and that's causing the noise issue there breaking down to quickly and squeaking.

Cab mounts are being replaced on Tuesday apparently its fairly involved process there going to give me a loaner the dealer thinks there going to have to lift the cab off the body to replace on the 17s. They gave me the story that the cab mounts were not installed correctly from the factory and one of the bushings is ripped causing the noise. The Tech was able to tighten the mount and make the noise go away so they are replace all of them. Not sure that I buy that they were damaged from the factory I got the truck with 6 miles on the OD I would think they would be making noises right off the bat.

Got an update Toyota pooched the cab mounts, they were ripped when installed by Toyota at the factory. The dealer replaced all 4 of them, two of which were ripped and they greased the new ones. Truck is dead silent now I'm gonna call corporate and let them know and push for extended warranty, I doubt they will go for it but it's worth a shot. So for those having issues with squeaks tell the dealer to take a look at the cab mounts!

Sounded like it was coming from the front right of the cab metallic sounding squeaking when going over bumps or turning into my driveway with the wheels turned and making an elevation change.

I hope this cab mount breaking down crap isn't widespread. Those aren't covered outside of the 3 year warranty and, at least on my last truck, were a bitch and a half to replace without a lift. Expensive if you didn't do it yourself too.

Took them all day to do mine and the tech said he was afraid he would have to take the whole cab off. Luckley he said it was doable with the cab on. I don't think it's wide spread they think they were damaged when the truck was built aka someone got lazy maybe assembled on a Friday? Idk anyways they put the new ones on and greases them under warranty.

I'm pretty sure mine are doing it. Loud creek from rf when driving slowly through a parking lot or any uneven road. Do we know if they're replacing them with the same bushings or up graded?

Thanks for the thread. Just about to hit 9k miles on my 2016 and now I have the dreaded noise! It's horrible going over speed bumps etc.. Going to make an appointment with my dealer. I wonder if there's a TSB for this issue?

600 mile truck and it squeaks on bumps, driveway or just cruising on uneven pavement looking for a parking space. Strange, both the front and back squeaks when going over the speed bumps (less than 5mph) :(

Hello all, I have a 2016 trd off road with this exact issue. over speed bumps or small elevation changes, I hear an awful slapping of steel on steel and squeak from my front right end and possible rear of the truck. occurs around 40-50 Kms ( I'm Canadian). I took it to my dealer last friday and replicated the sound with the service manager mechanic, they held it over the weekend and I got a call Monday morning. Would you believe this, they blamed all the sounds on m air intake! What idiots, had to call toyota canada to file a complaint and now im taking it to a enw dealer. I will keep updated notes here. Hope fully the dealer will help me because they don't believe me!

I have a 2015 Tacoma TRD, I complained a couple months after I purchased the truck about the crunching noise from the front passenger side of my truck. I wrote a complaint to Toyota they suggested I take it in to service. They dealership where I purchased my truck did not do anything the first visit to fix the problem. Then I followed-up with Toyota about my complaint, then they suggested I changed Dealerships. It was about 6 months after I purchased the truck and they said they tightened the Mounts. It did not correct the problem. I changed to a new dealership close to my home recently. Now after 2 years they said the upper and lower bushing need to be replaced and I would have to pay for it. Should I file a new compliant to Toyota? This truck has had this problem from day one and they have had several occasions to fix this issue.
