Anyone upgraded their brakes? Looking at alcon, stop tech and power brake. Not sure if 2k + is worth it or is ther a cheaper option? Pic for attention...

I have the SOS 16” kit and rear disc conversion. The front makes the biggest difference (rear helps when loaded up or towing). Personally it’s one of the changes I’m happiest about. Money well spent IMO - not cheap but worth it to me. Will make a huge difference with the weight your carrying on your rig.

It is possible to overheat the stock pads in the mountains. I would have guessed otherwise but it happened to me. When really hot they had a little shutter to them.

If I cared to upgrade them, pads and fluid should be plenty. Maybe duct some cold air to them. Big brakes like Stop-tech or Brembo have a place, but on the street they are overkill. The OE calipers are smaller Brembo knockoffs anyway.

Stoptech 6 Piston BBK. Noticed my brakes fading on long technical trails. Will add rear disks and larger master cylinder, Black Friday sale permitting. :fingerscrossed:

If it no longer stops in a safe distance or has fade often, then yeah, I'd say it's worth it
It looks like you've got a lot of $ in to mods, so don't stop short of finishing the build. (Pun intended):D

Have you tried upgraded pads, rotors, and fluid first?
