I have a 2014 Taco Texas limited edition 4x4 double cab that came with Rugged Terrains P245/65R17. I have the opportunity to put the same tire on again, but am seeking advice on whether I should upgrade to the All Terrain KO2 LT265/65R17.

My main use of the truck is to get me to work daily on a 10 minute commute, with the occasional long trips and off roading in Colorado. I'd like to keep the road noise and fuel mileage the same or a bit better. I frequently drive on wet road pavement.

Stick with the RTs or go for the ATs? Or should I even consider something else? Many thanks for any advice.

You might want to go with 265 70 17 KO2s C load, only around 45 lbs so not to heavy, great all round tire.
I have them, but might give the Cooper ST Maxx a try next.

Not much,KO2’s-n-a sweet mirror relocation bracket ,, gathering info.
The AT’s are great, I upgraded from the stock bfg 265/70/16, to the kO2 size 265/75/16 E. The difference in mileage, ride with the Heavy load range E is a real factor. Off road piece of mind is worth the trade offs for me. Perhaps load range C KO2’s may hit your sweet spot, as long as you make it to Colo. -n-getum-dirty.

I switched from 245/75/16 to 265/70/17 and lost 10 miles per tank

I second that. I did the same on my 2013. BFG TA/KO2 265/75/16 E rated. I like the heavier duty E rating for off road trails and the 75 is a little more wider than the 70, but still fit fine on a 16" rim. I only lost about 1 mpg from the stock BFG 265/70/16 tires. Plus the waffle pattern and sidewall are very unique and great looking.

Thanks everyone. Very helpful. Did any of you notice a difference in road noise when you switched from Rugged Terrain to All Terrain KO2s?

I found the K02 was not very good on wet pavement, stopping, starting also prone to hydroplaning without distinct channels in the tread

Wet pavement is a concern to me and in fact I spend more time in my daily commute on wet roads, than off roading. So I need to weight my criteria that while I hope for and want good snow/off road performance, safety on wet roads is very important.

I am considering going to the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W. It seems to get positive reviews on performance off road, wet pavement conditions and it is snow rated with reasonable road noise. It seems some claim it is a bit weak in soft sand and dirt, but I can accept that for all the positives as I don't live close to any beaches or conditions that would exclusively be present in an offload experience.

There are Rugged Trails and Rugged Terrains, the Terrains are a much better tire than the "Fails"

The aspect ratio means the 75 series is TALLER than the 70 series. Not wider tho

Just put them on myself in 265/70/17 C Load after having Cooper ST/MAXX in 265/75/16 in E Load. Loves the BF G's so far as we just got snow last night and they performed like a Boss. ST/MAXX's were nice but just so damn heavy.

They don't fit and could not be modified to do so. They are on there way back to CamelBack

Yeah the Pro Center Caps need like a star metal snap in piece not a round, and honestly the kind of scratched just by holding them as the caps were really glossy coated.
