    UPDATE 12/2
    Hey guys,
I found the popping noise I was mentioning in the first (original)post below this one.

    Disclaimer:
I do have a sway bar relocation spacer installed

The bolt on the sway bar tie rods was rubbing the very end on the bottom coil of the spring.
Luckily (after I removed to sway bar) I could paint the scratch with the same silver color paint I use on my truck now (silver taco).

I rode without the sway bar for a bit and did some angled turns out of/into the driveway as before with different speeds and body roll. No popping.

Driving without the sway bar feels like a cloud over bumps! However, at highway speeds (50+) you can feel the way the body "sways", almost feels like and "S" movement through the body. I can see how this would get scary avoiding a head-on collision. I put the sway bar back on until my next offroad trip. It's seriously easy, and anyone who takes it off must understand you HAVE to take off the two front frame braces to get the entire bar out (6 - 17mm bolts) or you will fight the bar to the end...not that big of deal (< 4mins)

Anyways, went and cut the little tiny bit that was rubbing, resumed and torqued everything to spec. Checked again by going in a and out of the angled curb entrance to my driveway. No popping.

Anybody with 2.5" shocks may want to check this. See pics below

This little bolt end was rubbing the coil.

Used washers to space bolt away from coil, but decided against this after looking at the tweaked boot angles on the rod. Took these out.

So, I cut about 1/8-3/16" off the end of the bolt and added rubber silicone in case it ever did just barely make contact (doubtful).

Painted the scratches (barely see blemish)

    Original post:

This has been mentioned before, but answers are vague.

When pulling up and angled driveway while turning and experiencing some articulation (a little body roll) there can be a "popping" noise that occurs occasionally. It sounds like a coil settling as it twists in the coilover, a tied rod, or a rear shock clacking against the leafs.

but, when underneath the truck I can not see or identify either of these. Is this a symptom of the frame twisting?

    I have checked and torqued:
    • Body Mounts
    • Tie rods
    • Necessary shock bolts
    • I even went as far to cover the rear shocks in electrical tape to identify any hitting although there was none

Someone please give me peace of mind on what is occurring.

Have you looked at the spring itself?

If it is indeed the front body mounts (it was on mine) the torque means nothing.

The rubber mounts were not installed properly from the factory - replacement is the only way to fix.

I have the same exact issue. Haven’t figured it out yet. First model year problems!

I have this too. How do I check my body mounts?

Definitly not the coil overs. They are brand new

Glad I’m not the only one. Think it is just a symptom of the vehicle. I don’t think it is the body mounts because it sounds like the leafs or frame flexing

Possibly sway bar links if you have it on still

Had this sound a few months ago with the stock bilsteins where at a certain speeds over bumps it made sort of clacking sound as OP described. I upgraded my shocks around 8000 miles with the trd pro bilsteins and the sound went away. Fast forward 10000 miles later now at 18000, the sound has returned. Now I did notice it happened more often after I got an alignment. At my first 5000 mile service I got it aligned from the dealership (it was pulling right) and that's when I started to hear it. Upgraded the shocks and got it aligned and the all was well with no sounds. Around 17000 miles my steering if off center for some reason and I get it realigned. Then whadda ya know, the sound is back.

How much steering when it pops? Almost maxed out, as in a very tight corner?

This may be the closest guess yet, are these those tiny rods that connect to the spindle?

LCA would be my guess. Same with poster above who said his popping went away after alignment. Try loosening and re-torquing all your cam bolts with the wheels sitting on the ground. Either one of them is loose or you need new LCA bushings. Slap some grease on your steering stops as well while you are down there

Mine does it between 3/4 to full lock such as when turning into a driveway that has a ramped skirt.

Could this really be it if it doesn't happen every time? I just got two alignments done by a reputable 4X4 shop.
Could it be my bolt-on sliders making noise when the frame twists since they are connected?

Look in the 2nd gen forum for knocking or popping LAC bushings.
