Have them send you a new one. You shouldn’t pay for shotty work.

Mine don't look anything like that. I have one but my 2 cents, uws is not any better than my DeeZee box. You want a top quality box, only two choices. ProTech and WickumWeld.

I've got two UWS boxes, one is 15 yrs the other 3 yrs old. Neither of the welds look or fit like that.

I've had a couple UWS boxes, and the workmanship on them was excellent. Contact UWS directly and politely share your disappointment with them, including photos. I bet that they'll gladly make it right.

Just my thoughts here - I would have contacted them before posting this. Shit happens and sometimes things slip through the cracks. I would have gone to them before posting this. I don’t mean that as a negative to you. I do t think you were shitposting or anything. I’d have just given them the benefit of the doubt before I posted this.

Either way, I hope it gets sorted out for you. I’d definitely be wanting a proper replacement.

I understand you’re opinion completely and as a welder myself, I know stuff can get by qc and the company never have an idea. That’s why I’m going to update as it goes along and give a final result, I’m hoping that they will do right and replace the box and if they do so, I won’t have any complaint with the company and I will make sure to update the post with their customer service resolution

Wow you got a trained cat that welds -- you could go on the road with him/her and make some serious money. Just kidding -- as you were!!

I haven't looked at mine in while, but I don't think the welds looked very good. Overall quality wasn't great. It does the job, but for the price, I did expect a little more.

If I was to purchase another truck box, I'd go for a weather gaurd.

When you get a chance, could you upload some pics of the welds in yours? I wanna see what kind of workmanship it should be like and if I have pictures out of a good one to send to someone at UWS, it might give me a little more leverage

From a manufacturing standpoint, I'd be embarrassed to punt that out the door.

There is no place for work like that when they charge what they do. There was at least 2, probably 4 people that your box got through to get to you. I'd definitely be nice at first but anything but "we'll send you out a new one ASAP" would piss me off.

I’m keeping my cool for now and am gonna try to handle this professionally because I understand mistakes happen, but if they’re not willing to send another one out I’m gonna make it a shit show with them. I have spoke with someone from UWS as of now and he gave me his email address to send him pictures which I will be doing after I get off work, so we’ll see that they say this evening

Thank you, I just think it’s sad that nobody can take pride in their work anymore. It’s all about production

Maybe tig on the outside corners but all that splatter on the inside looks like a sloppy mig job

Yeah I assumed most of the box would have been tigged. The only place it was tigged was the outside corners and the guard that protects the latch rod

As of now, I have yet to hear back from anyone at UWS. I left them a note on their website, and have spoke with 2 people on the phone that gave me their email and I have emailed pictures and a detailed description, but have yet to get back with me. Will continue to update
