I promised my fiancé I wouldn't modify this truck... I lied.
    Hey everyone,
So I've been debating about getting a rack for my truck. I have seen the $400.00 Yakima ones and kudos to Blackdawg for ideas on a bed and roof rack. But I ran across this universal one on eBay and was wondering if these clips would work in the window of the access cab. Obviously the front door isn't an issue. I'm more for looks rather than utility, thoughts/ideas/opinions? Thanks!

i dont know much about roof racks but it seems like every roof rack i see attaches to the gutter, so were do you attach it on a access cab?

This crossbar on eBay attaches with these straps and clips and I'm thinking I could open that back window and get these clips under the seal, then close the window. That seal acting like a gutter. And obviously the front bar would attach to the front door gutter just fine.

Installed the Thule rail/rack system on our Focus ZX3 & Taco Shell.

Haul a Thule pod on the Focus so far and Kayaks on the Taco. Use tied down straps for the Kayaks and U-Clamps that came with the pod to secure it on the cross rails:

This is how the Focus looks without cross rails:

Really like how easy the cross rails are to install/remove & secure with the Thule keyed locks:

Yes, Drilled the roof of the Focus for the installation about 2 years ago. Ordered the Taco Leer Shell with the Thule rails already installed. Really like this system.

Know how you feel. Keep my vehicles a long time, so I drilled. No leaks or issues, so far.

    Here's another shot:

Proline has Thule and Yakima rail/rack systems starting from $350 to $370.
Don't remember what I paid, but bought the Thule racks & Proline rails for the Focus, costing less than the complete Thule system. Have the complete Thule rail/rack system that came with the Leer Shell, and like the complete system better. The Thule rails are heavier than the Proline rails.

I'm thinking I may get those universal ones. Like you said price isn't bad, I'll post up some pics if it works out and maybe get a cage up there soon! :D
And if it's a no go I may do one of those drill in ones.
