I recently installed a new Undercover Ultra Flex and followed the instructions, watched youtube videos and studied this site for answers. The situation is that in the rear corners of the bed, on the inside of the tailgate, there is a gap of about 1"x1"x1". I did my best to highlight the situation in the photos. My question to other Ultra Flex owners... Is this gap supposed to be there or were the mounting rails supposed to be moved further back and creating the gap in the front corners of the bed? As is, the cover basically gushes water in through this gap.

Undercover support is not open on weeks, but I know this thread is. :)

    Thanks.

Can you maybe try sliding the cover back a bit?

Thanks. I cannot move the cover back, but I can reposition the mounting rails slightly more to the rear. But, this creates a similar gap in the front. I think I am going to try that and attempt to seal the bulkhead with some foam weather stripping with adhesive backing. The trailer supply store near me has a variety of material that is sold by the foot. If that doesn't improve it, then I will attempt the tailgate seal that is popular with Bakflip crowd.

Does anyone know how to take light scratches out of this cover being that it is made out of aircraft grade aluminum?

This did. I used 1" weather strip that I got from the trailer store. It stuck it in there and filled the gap. I have been happy with the cover and going on my second year. As long as you dont put items on top of the cover. It scratches. I made the mistake of putting a gas can on there and it left some scratches.

THanks! Its this or the MX4. There are so many posts on the MX4 but not a lot on the Ultra Flex. What are the side rails like? the MX4 seems to have a wider rail with an extra rubber lip on the bed rail. the Ultra Flex looks like just the top rubber cover.

Thanks. How are the rubber rails holding up? I’ve read these covers start to fall apart after 4 years or so.

Not at four years, but they are fine. No real signs of wear.
