Undercover SE Tonneau Cover

Finally got my undercover tonneau today and mounted it.

 

Dude that is nice! That was my 1st choice but I took the cheaper route and bought the TruXedo Lo Pro.

 

Thanks I love these Undercover tonneau's,100% waterproof,durable,nice designs no fading,chipping,cracking. Ive had these on all my trucks and I wouldn't buy any other brand.Oh and you don't have to worry about anyone stealing your tailgate with these either.

 

I actually had on that faded back in 04. At first company gave me a hard time with warranty but then sent me a new one and told me to keep the old as shipping was too expensive.

 

My one friend has one on his 08 taco (10 yrs old now)and it still shines like new out of the box and works perfect,mine were all 3 to 4 years old and still looked like the day they were put on. ps:none of our trucks are garage kept either,so they are exposed to spring,summer,fall and winter weather.

 

Oh dang, I like that cover.

Thats the closest thing to the UTEMaster Load Lid I have seen to date.

I may not bother to build my own with that being a thing I can buy.

Do you know how much weight can it hold on top of the cover?
I want to be able to store stuff on top/would want to make a bed rack that goes on top of said cover.

 

I have had up to 400 lbs. on mine without a problem. Ive had them on every truck i owned,100%water proof and easy to take off if you have to.

I was trying to weigh if adding a small RTT to the top of that (via some QD setup) would work/make sense.

A lot of what ifs of course, as I'd have to see how things line up etc, but thats good to know it can hold the weight.

That is by far one of the more legit setups, especially based on the price.

 

Nice looking cover. I bought one of these when I first got my Tacoma, really a great choice for the money. Waterproof, and we would stand on it, sleep on it, and shoot off of it with zero issues. I peeled the "Undercover" logo off mine though, that had to go lol. My only gripe was the weird and expensive coin batteries needed for the light.

 

There is someone on here that gets them for a good price but I forgot his name,I think its in one of these threads on the undercover tonneau.

Oh weird, didn't realize those took batteries.

Wonder if there's a way to wire that into something else?

Overall though, I'm half way copying Ronny Dahls Hilux setup.
Guilty as charged lol.

 

Anyone ever consider adding hard foldable sides to this load lid setup to make it sleeping space?

Does anyone know if you can lift the lid some with weight on it?

I can't quite get a perfect idea of how durable the hinge portion is towards the front of the bed.
