I was under my truck today attempting to grease the driveshaft u-joints (which I only found 1?) and took a moment to inspect the undercarriage of my truck. This truck spent its life in Michigan until I bought it and moved to Arizona. This truck received a new frame Feb. '18. I already wirebrushed and painted my rear axle with rust reformer, but wondering if I should do anything else to any part of my undercarriage now that I live here.

I wirebrushed the super orange looking part of the driveshaft today, giving it that appearance.

Looks pretty good really...might want to touch up some of the rust on the sheet metal parts. if it's bugging you do the shafts too.

I would buy 2 rattle cans of fluid film and spray those rusted areas. It’s just surface rust but the ff will stop it.

I've sanded some parts down and used some automotive rubberized undercoating. Seems to work pretty well. Also used it for my CMC

I'd wire brush the rough spots, hit them with a little Rust Oleum, wait a week and cover everything with Fluid Film.

All things considered not bad. My experience I start with ospho acid to remove encapsulate the rust, rustoleum primer, Eastwood black chasis paint and than Amsoil heavy duty metal protector. I find Fluid film washes away to easly. The Amsoil has cosmoline which I find adheres better to the frame.

I'm not an Amsoil dealer but I do like there products. That cosmoline is a military grade protectant. It took me 7 years of trail and error on my frame and this get's me the best results living in the rust belt.

You should be using a respirator when using the aerosol version of Fluid Film. It has lanolin and constantly breathing that stuff can mess up your lungs. I say this because it happened to me.
