Got to solve that homeless problem somehow.... no one has lights, you cant see the homeless and the problem just kinda works it way out.

Yeah, it's a law here in California. Guarantee the driver knew about it. If you have offroad lights uncovered on the road, you're at risk for getting a ticket. If you turn them on, on public roads with other drivers present? You're asking to get run off the road.

I suppose if you follow every letter of the law their illegal up here too. Imho the real culprits are the ones who use led lamps in halogen housings. Now that’s blinding glare. I have NEVER used my off road lights inappropriately & given the huge unchecked deer population up here, I’m glad I have them. Must have been end of the month quota time.

I don't know what you want me to tell you. Laws are laws. I have uncovered offroad lights on my truck too, and if I get pulled over for them I'll have to suck it up.

Only time I’ve ever been pulled over (actually it was more like flagged down as no lights were used) was leavin’ for work at 3AM one Mornin’. Turns out the Cop lived near me & wanted to know where I got them from. Super nice guy too.

CHP is not into homeless issue that is not their responsibility, although they do get involved if needed. The vehicle code is theirs. If you have your light off they won’t bother you as long as you are obeying traffic laws. Turn them on it’s on you. That also for driving/rally light or light bars in the grill. Red or Blue to the front is a no no. There also is maximum Headlight height. Would have to go look it up in one of my books. Now if you get stopped for some traffic offense all bets are off. To dark a tint lights tires out Side the fender to far and few other things they can write you up. There is also an attitude pinch. Use common sense and you will be fine.
