"Pending" code P0430... I cleared it, but is there anything to check or worry about. Seems like it could be a number of things, but what does "pending" mean for the code?

Also want to add that there never was a check engine light on.

    thanks

    • Pending codes mean that the OBD-II monitoring system has failed the operation of an emission control system at least once and if it fails again the Check Engine Light will be turned on and the malfunction becomes an Active code.

Thanks, weird cause this is the third time the pending code has came back after clearing it. The check engine light has never come on.

The computer will run tests on the system only when certain conditions are met, like up to operating temperature for a specific period of time. You may be resetting the code before the conditions reoccurs for the next test.

more than likely the 'pre cat' is going...I had to replace my front one (Got it from East Coast Cat Supply), the rear is still the original (312,00 and counting)...I replaced my O2's, although I am not convinced they were the culprit, as I still got codes after O2 replacement, stopped when I replaced the front cat....

    YMMV....

    Try this stuff first.

I'm not a believer in most of this stuff, but I had a P0420 code on a first gen of mine that kept tripping my CEL no matter how many times I cleared it. Ran this through on a low tank of gas. Code never came back and was still good when I sold the truck a year or so later. Never even got a pending code again.

I get a pending code alarm everytime I start the truck now. Started today and beeps every minute or so until I use the scroll down button to silence it.

It was just a low fuel alarm. I never reset the guage upon last fillup. You can either set it to alarm off or just reset the fuel guage upon fillup.
