After spending that sort of money my truck would have at least a marlin crawler rclt kit and 40’s. I don’t understand your choices.

Too much coin to spend on a Tacoma. And my build is prob close to $65/70k. Buy a raptor and call it a day. You’ll save $25k and enjoy it more.

 

I will address some of the thought provoking questions.

Why TRD PRO, why not an OR and a wrap?

A base OR is in the low 40's, but one equipped with the Advanced Technology package and the Premium Package and the trd pro skid plate/shifter/exhaust/floor mats comes in at $47,558, a TRD Pro auto in Solar Octane comes in at $50,904. That is a difference of $3,346. Which is far less then a quality paint job and still less than a quality wrap, and then I still have to swap the grill, don't get the hood, or cool stamped bed sides.

Why not a buy a full size?

The suspension I chose isn't long travel, I don't want long travel. I don't want the track width of a full size pick up. I plan on driving through tight trails that a Raptor or other full sizes vehicles will have trouble with. I also live in the city and the Tacoma barely fits through the streets with on coming traffic. A full size is just too big for me.

Why do you want the Skinny guy camper?

I Have have to pee a minimum of once a night, and after getting the shits from Mexican tacos, I want the freedom to do it in my tent.

I do plan to contact with Camburg and SKG as I haven't been able to find anyone outside their company that has had one of these systems on their vehicle.

Don't forget to re-gear and a supercharger. Post pics when done. I thought about the Camburg LCA w slapper kit & Fox bumpstop. You'll need to post your experience with it after you log a few hundred miles. I just got the Camburg Kinetik UCA and decided to go with Dirt King LCA instead & Durobumps bumpstops.

This is hitting the nail on the head. I have some pretty gnarly pin-striping down my truck sides that would bring the average man to tears. I really can’t imagine having a full sized truck on the majority of actual trails.

 

I have the Skinny Guy Camper installed, Caliraised bed stiffeners, the Deaver 402-2 leaf springs, and the Fox 2.5 PES DSC shocks on the rear. The camper is 500 lbs and sat the frame about two inches above the bump stops. I am still waiting on the rest of the order from Camburg, the UCA's aren't done being manufactured and the Fox 2.5 bump stops are still on back order. I swapped a set of metal-tech4x4 rock sliders of my 2020 Tacoma as well as the 265/75r16 BFG at ko2's. And with that I took it for a two week trip to Baja. The truck did awesome, the camper is another story that I will put a video up of.

I haven't ruled out a supercharger yet, but I want to see how the truck drives with the weight and the 5.29 gears.

I think I saw you on i405 and i5 south and took the Tigard exit. I was the guy in the lifted MGM lifted sport. This is like a missed connection post. Good looking truck btw

 

At the terwilliger turns? I drove to 4wp for a bumper and winch quote and then mule expedition outfitters for a quote on a supercharger

 

I knew that truck looked familiar!! Your truck looks fantastic. One other thing. Don't confuse me with the a**hole in the second gen tacoma that was changing lanes and a** riding everyone thru the terwilliger curves. See ya around town!!

 

Hello mate, sounds like a really cool project! Have you thought about cooling? I have basically 0 mechanical knowledge, but just thinkin if your haulin all that extra steel slowly up hills that might be an issue. Otherwise, good luck and share pics pls!

 

Just ordered the Magnusson supercharger, warn zeon 12s winch, and 4wp bumper with wings.

Still deciding on lights

 

+2" LT kit > stock length. Still narrow enough to be taken anywhere, significantly more travel to keep the wheels planted and allow for better performance. Pair the +2 kit with a set of Archive Garage towers to get more travel in the back end as well. Upgrading all of that front end to maintain stock length makes questionable sense.
