    Looking to replace ALL U-joints, possibly Carrier Bearing. I believe a total of 5 joints.

    RockAuto lists 2 different DANA/Spicer U-joints. Different fitment dimensions.
    Front shaft 5-1310-1X
    Rear shaft 5-1330-1X

    I have read threads indicating the U-joint is the same part for both shafts.

    Please offer a clue as to correct parts.....

    @gearcruncher .....can you clarify?

    I believe the only difference is where the grease zerk is placed . Some grease zerks are in the u-joint cap and some zerks are on center trunnion .

    Some guys prefer the grease zerk on the trunnion as its hidden and less chance of getting torn off during wheeling

    Some guys prefer the grease zerk on the cap making it easier to grease at every oil change .

    Some guys prefer non greaseable saying they are stronger because there is no hole drilled through the center . We already know from posts here at Tacoma World not to go back to this style of universal joint . They do not last . Even though they are sealed , water finds a way in and you cant force the water out with fresh grease like you can with a flush style joint

    Both parts have the zerk in the end cap.

    The fitment dimensions are different between front and rear shaft. Specifically, Bearing Cap Diameter and Length

    Front shaft

    Rear Shaft.

    So. Many. Stickers.
    Looks to me like you've already figured out that they're "different".... So what's the issue? Order the specific ones to your application And be done with it.

    @CygnusX191 Yes, I've figured out the parts are different. The doubt comes from other information indicating the same part fits both shafts.

    So is RockAuto info messed up or is the other information messed up?

    If I get 5-1310-1X (5 qty) will it be too short for the rear shaft?
    If I get 5-1330-1X (5 qty) will it be too long for the front shaft?

    Do the shafts require different parts?
    Front 5-1310-1X (2 qty)
    Rear 5-1330-1X (3 qty)

    Ok. Great!! :thumbsup: Thank you. :D:D

    RockAuto has correct information.:woot::woot:

    <edit>
    Interesting......the chart has no information about the joint for the front shaft. The "AU" diagram shows 4 joints only......

    There is a TSB replacing the 3 rear U joints.
