Turning rear brake grinding noise

    It’s not my bearing for sure.

    I do rock crawl every now and then but isn’t the rear bearing supposed to make a humming noise when driving straight to tell that they are bad? I don’t have any leaks coming from the rear seal. My brake dust cover are really bent though too.

    Maybe your brake backing plate is contacting the drum do to the obvious damage. Only one way to find out. Jack it up, remove the wheel and take the drum off, if you can. If you see shiny metal on the drum and backing plate, they are contacting each other.

    Not enough to have a build thread.
    Everything flexes a little when turning. Sometimes front brakes will hit the squealer when turning. Minor tolerances can allow things to rub, especially if they're not how they were from the factory

    Yeah I find it odd too. I was going to replace the bearings but I don’t hear anything abnormal when driving in a straight line.

    also the Grinding sound only happens when I’m making a right hand turn, weight is distributed to the driver side.

    could have got a piece of gravel in between the rotating parts or the heat shield is rubbing on the drum.
