I'm thinking of putting a turn down pipe on my truck just after the muffler, like the one in the pic below(who's ever pic this is, thank u). The guy at the muffler shop mentioned about keeping my tailpipe due to our O2 sensors reading the back pressure from the tailpipe. He said it might be ok, but also said it might make my truck use more fuel. Any helpful advice on this would be much appreciated. Thank u all in advance!

While on this subject I have been looking at making my taco sound better i'm between a flowmaster 40 muffler or a magnaflow cat back. Any suggestions? If I did the muffler I would have it turn down like the picture but before the rear axle so more room for travel when off roading.

I knew what you meant but pic whoring came first

To me the magnaflow makes it sound like a Subaru, I haven't heard the Flowmaster in person

    Kinda stock
Magnaflow kinda subie sounding. Deep rumble
flowmaster crackles and pops. And screams at the top end. Almost like you are choking something out.
I ran both. Choose whatever is your preference is.

I just want something better than the stock system and a muffler is cheaper than the cat back option although i think the magnaflow muffler isnt much different than the cat back. i just want some rumble but not too much that i get some droan on the highway or anything. i also love the sound around 4-5k with the trd cai that thing screams!

I just bought the truck a few weeks ago but it is the TRD CAI, at least that's what the guy said but it is sealed and pulls air in from somewhere around the wheel well, so I didn't have to pay extra! :D
