Hi everyone, I have been looking for a way to turn off the voice announcement that occurs if you drive over 2-3 hours:

"You have been driving for a long time, please take a break."

I believe this is separate from the vehicles sway warning function where you go into the multi-info display and turn the "coffee cup" setting to "Off."

This is just an audio warning, no visual messages on the dash or buzzer/alarm. I cannot seem to find any information in the Owner's Manual. This message will play while the vehicle is in motion, or while the vehicle is parked has not been shut-off.

    Any help is appreciated.

I have a 2020 OR and have never experienced this. In fact, I have never heard my truck talk to me. Maybe you should pull off the road and take a nap. :)

The most recent time I had this happen was while I drove up to the mountains to cut firewood and left my truck running. Apparently the idle time counts as part of the whole trip and triggers this audio message.

HEY! That's a brilliant piece of engineering! What other truck can you walk from the cab to the bed without getting out?

Just scanned the owners manual and infotainment manual on my desktop and there is nothing like this in either manual. My Subaru has this feature it’s called Rest Notification and can be turned off in the infotainment system.

My assumption is that you have your phone connected and you’re running some sort of app like WAZE or alternative map and it’s telling you this not the truck. Turn off the feature in the map ap. :hattip:

    I've been eyeing a local '82 245DL for a little while now. I understand.

Just was looking around one that I passed in Wendover that was on the way back from a Gambler 500 event.

I live on a 730 square mile chunk of basalt. I'll probably never be able to have a trip long enough to trigger the nanny.

Wonder if this is new. My 2018 only told me to take a break once. I was pulling my trailer through a set of curves and was purposefully shaving the apex. Five left/rights and lane departures in as many minutes made it upset.

You going over the white line?

I drive 2-3 hour road trips multiple times a month and I've never had the truck talk to me.
It's too early for Friday posts!!

Phone is not connected through. No bluetooth or cable. Don't use waze. I've not found any info on this "feature" anywhere.

There aren't any lines on the roads that I have been driving. Forest Service roads, a mix of 2-track, dirt, gravel, and paved. I also have the LDA turned off.
