does anyone know of any write ups on the possibility of putting a I-force V8 in a Taco????

also what do you Taco Gods think would be better in all in all..... take into account reliability, performance, offroad ability, COST and ease of install.

    now... you choose..

    I-force V8 or Supercharger????

On a serious note, NO. No write ups, just talk and speculation regarding the V8 swap. I know of one first gen that has a Lexus V8 and that's it.

well, i did look on google, and it seemed like everything was about going into a newer taco,,,, i am talking about a 2000. the reason i ask is because i have access to a v8, 5.7l iforce. but the thing is, i dont know what i want to do. i love toyota because everything is so interchangable.... i put our 3.4l 5vz into the back of an MR2

problem is,,,, i just dont know if it would be worth it in the long run. the torque would be nice from a v8 to get up the hills easier, but a charger would do the same right??? never been in a charged taco so i dont know..... also how bad would the gas mileage be????????

thats nice, still dont see why you would put a pos ford in a bad ass like a toy, but at least it was the 5.0 and not the pussy ass 4.6. i have a gmc jimmy that has a 4.3l v6.....

BUT CAN ANYONE PLEASE ANSWER MY ???????? can a 5.7l iforce go into a 2000 taco? would it be more beneficial and cost effective than a charger???

my motor has 136k on it, would i need to rebuild it for the TRD charger or is it ok?? i really just have no info about the charger or i would be making my own mind up like i did with cars and turbo's

i seen a early 90's model with a carbuerated 350 crate motor in it.. but he didnt for some unknown reason hook up the transfer case or anything so its only 2wd now but there would be alot of custom fab work with the frame and new front suspension to support a heavier engine and probably beefed up drive line to support the big jump in power and added weight to the rear to hold any kind of traction im sure with the i force being a fuel injected engine it would take alot of tuning and other wire and electrical work to get it to work correctly more work then its worth in my opinion. just put the blower on it and mod the crap out of your engine it you want that much more power

i want to have as few mods as possible in order to keep it simple and clean. with my MR2 i had so much done to it that if something was off the tiniest bit i had to search through every mod inorder to find the issue and retune it.

i want nice clean reliable power with simplicity. would i get that from a charger or just get the tundra... like an 06 model... ????
