Saw couple members here with knobs . Took mine apart and used thread coupler to extend thread so no need to cut. Bottom of knob snaps off ( some glue holding it on).Carefully pull downwards and rock back and forth.
Its on good just take time
Cut bolt for top (cut off head).Thread needs to be abut 1 1/4 long .I used die to cut more thread. Use 2 nuts 1 top 1 bottom to lock extended part on to shaft. (8mm x1.25 ). Need about 3/4 inch thread to screw into knob so can tighten enough.Slot bottom of cut bolt incase gets stuck in knob can remove with screw driver.
Can make minor height adjustment to height you like but if you use 2 lo (all the way down) check clearance.
Picture with knob apart shows thread insert removed. Leave in. (Was trying to think things out). Only bottom part needs to come off.

I ended up cutting off 7/8 of an inch off bottom because it was kind of high. Member XeddeX did it that way and it looks a lot better.
If you go that way then simple .No need take apart .Just cut the 7/8s off of bottom. Then when u tighten knob ,put shifter all the way down to 2nd? then tighten knob . That way u can get it as close to bottom as can with out hitting sides. All the way down (2nd?) is the lowest knob will sit. When u shift back to park it will be slightly higher. Pics with knob cut down.
As for shift console top spayed with bed linner cause I sanded to much. Linner saved my ass onthat one. Cabonfiber wrap is 3m di noc .Good stuff

Sorry to blow up an old thread. Has anyone tried this on a 3rd gen?
