Aren’t OEM take offs generally the cheapest option?

i think OP is asking if it’s possible to use any tundra shock or does it have to be modified in a certain manner to make it fit.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I would think the valving would be all wrong (way too stiff) since the Tundra is heavier and sprung as such.

How much are you looking to spend?

Here is a great budget shock for the price

That’s not how I read it. I think the OP is asking if anyone is running tundra aftermarket shocks on a Tacoma as a way to save money compared to OEM tundra shocks.

Accutune and maybe others sell modified tundra shocks for the Tacoma. I think the mount points are different. I don’t know the details.

I’m guessing it would be cheaper to buy used (aka take off) OEM tundra shocks and modify them for a Tacoma than it would be to buy aftermarket tundra shocks and modify them for a Tacoma.

Hopefully the OP will clarify the question.
