I hear some folks run Tundra shocks in the rear to gain another inch or so of travel when lifted with an aftermarket leaf pack like Deaver, Icon, etc. What gen of Tundra shocks are we talking about? Are the mount points the same, or some modification required?

I was comparing the Ironman4x4 Foam Cell Pro shocks and they appear slightly different where it mounts to the axle.

2007+ Tundra on left, 2005+ Tacoma on right:

It's way thicker, the bore of the shock doesnt fit through the top.

AccuTune talks about their Tundra Fox shocks that are compatible with the Tacoma throughout the thread. You just have to use the search

I'm running Tundra rear shocks on my 3rd gen . 2009 Tundra as i remember. The lower mount bushing is 1/4" wider then the Tacoma ones so you have to grind/mill them down 1/8" on each side of the bushing. I've run both Bilstiens and now on Kings . They give about 10.5" of travel to the rear . IMG_2728.jpg

Thanks! That's really good info. I see you're running a limit strap -- something I don't know much about. Are limit straps adjustable, or do you figure out how much droop you can safely handle and then buy it in a pre-made size?

    Are those leafs Deavers?

OME hd leafs. 1" lift block and a 3degree shim. U-bolt flip kit from relentless fab. cut down daystar bump stops from Amazon. I'm running 24" limit straps also from Amazon I don't think I need them but Kings cost to much to F'up. I've been known to get a little air out on the dunes .

Truck sits maybe 1/2” high in the rear without the rtt and shower. With everything loaded it’s really close to dead level I’ll take a fresh picture tomorrow. Don’t have one in my phone that shows it very well

Not as bad as I was expecting. What do you have up front, suspension wise and lift height?

Are you on archive garage rear hangers as well or is it just the rear bumper making them look aftermarket?

I have not changed my rear hangers yet, I’m going to wait and see how it does on the Rubicon

Not to high jack the thread, but have you had a chance to full droop the rear?
