Has anyone removed the plastic letters from the pro-style grill and just used the tuffskinz (or similar) overlay in their place?

I don't really want to keep the letters and have double thick grill lettering, but I'm unsure how it will work using the overlays without the plastic letters that come stuck to the grill

I tried on one letter and it looks weird. The letters are tall and removing them insets the look of it. So I put the letter back and just put the tuffskinz on top. I've tried a few different covers and for the OEM grille and the tuffskinz seem the to work the best out of all the ones i've tried.

The tuffskinz letters aren't all that thick. The grill letters outline the tuffskinz letters and I actually like the look - and yeah I know I have a busy grill.

oem pro grill, so these would probably work better, but I already got the tuffskinz overlays. I'm just going to remove the letters and see how the overlays look by themselves. I'd want to paint my letters to remove the gray outline with the overlays on them, so the letters are coming off no matter what now.

Oh I’m not sure the letters will work with oem. Send them an email before buying.
