Does anybody know examples of true to size 32" 265/75R16 tires?

My current SL 265/75 Wildpeak at3w's are almost at the wear bars so I've been trying to figure out which tire is next. 265/75R16 load E, SL, 285, etc.

Mickey Thompson has the LT Baja Boss AT's listed at 32" on their website, but at 58lbs I might as well just get 285's despite how good the E load versions look. The rest of the tires I'm finding seem to be the standard 31.7".

If BFG would hurry up and release more sizes of the K03 I might just spring for 285's given that they're always smaller than stated size, but I might be waiting years at this point:mad:

Maybe I'm missing something, but why does that 0.3" matter? For all intents and purposes, that's a 32" tire. Mounted on the truck and having weight on it, that's going to go out the window anyways.

My recommendation, if the SL 265's have treated you well, stick with them. As tempting as it is to jump up in tire size, a lot of people simply don't need it. The extra weight from a larger/stiffer tire will impact acceleartion and braking, decrease ride quality if moving away from SL, and require more work to fit. I had a tacoma all built up for crawling and now have a 4runner daily driver, with 265/70r17 SL on it. As tempting as it is to move up in size when the time comes, I've made peace with the fact it's unnecessary so I will be sticking with 265 SL in the future. Probably wildpeaks.

I figure the extra .3" directly equates to more tread depth - maybe that's a naive assumption. Like most people my taco is my daily, but I do 4-5/10 offroading on the weekends with several longer trips planned this year. Probably don't need the extra plies that E load will give but it's extra insurance. The SL baja bosses are very tempting at 42lbs but the sidewall lugs are far less aggressive than the E load variant, a trend I see pretty often in AT tires

Everybody rounds up. They always have. A 265/75/16 is the size it is. An E rated 265/75/16 is going to be slightly taller than a P rated tire when new because they start with more tread. But with any tire it will be about 1" smaller when you replace it than when it was new.

Ah, I gotcha. I would just pay attention to the tread depth spec on the product pages then, it should specify. It's too bad you have 16" wheels because I've been eyeing the Cooper rugged trek, which is an AT but has more tread depth than the average AT at 16/32". It's an XL load which is just an SL that can hold a slightly higher PSI. 45 lbs too!

Oh yeah, I'm regretting getting my method wheels in 16's. The options for 17" wheels is insane... Seems like any load you want at any size! I do like the extra sidewall from the 16's though. Thanks for the advice - the tire search continues!:burnrubber:

@abou824 The ST Maxx’s are the only ones I’ve ever seen that are actually 32”. I’m not saying there aren’t others out there, but those are the only ones I can remember from all my research. Been running LT265/75/16 Grabbers for about 50K miles now.

I’ve done more research than I can remember on that specific tire size lol

275 70 17 is the true 32” but obviously not available in 16.

A 275 width 16" would be perfect, no clue why tire manufacturers don't release that size

I’m just glad we finally got a 255/85/16 all terrain tire. I thought it would never happen.

16” is practically dead as far as trucks go

15 is getting really hard to find now.

Good point. At4w load C 255 is one size I am considering, really cool that they released that size

Yeah I would have gone with the 255 ST Maxx’s if they weren’t $6,000 per tire lol

How much have you noticed the extra weight? Those are some heavy rubbers!

You're talking about 0.15" all around the tire. you will NEVER notice that difference.

Yep they are heavy. With the tune I don't notice much in driveability, but the mpgs take a hit compared to the wildpeaks I had before. I drive a lot of really rough forestry roads that just shred tires, I like the insurance when I'm a 100kms back there.

No. The size for "a little bigger than stock without rubbing" is 265/75R16 or 265/70R17.
