So today i was working my truck and i disconnected the battery. I reconnected it and then i tried to start it. everything was normal, all the lights turned on and what not. However when i went to start the engine. nothing happened, at all. So i went back to mess with the battery and see if i forgot to connect something. And when i touched it, it sparked. All the wires are connected on, but it still wont turn over. Any ideas?

Is the battery connection clean? Even though you just removed it and put it back on, you might try some sandpaper or a terminal brush on the battery post.

Could have just enough electricity in the battery to power lights and such, but not enough to start the truck. I'd try to check it with a voltmeter or try another battery.

I might just go out and try to jump start it and see how it goes.

Do you hear relays clicking, mine does this sometimes where I have to hold the key in the on position for 5 sec. then it starts like normal.

So i jump started it, and got it running just fine. drove around a few miles and then let it idle for 15 minutes. Then i turned it off and tried to restart it. But i had the same problem. Im gonna go pick up a battery from o rielleys or NAPA. The current battery is at least 150,000 - 200,000 miles old

Check your battery wire going from battery to the starter solenoid to make sure it's tight, maybe when you unhooked it from the battery it moved down below on the solenoid, breaking the connection.
