Truck driver b.s.

Good morning driver's first day today.
Ok talking to the doctor yesterday getting physical for new job he told me how to keep my CDL without a medical card. Fill out med form 1 and mark exempted and turn into the NCDMV.

Specific to NC

 

I don't know it's that form you fill out for the DMV saying what kind of driving your going to be doing.
Started new job today very impressive operation at IPEX

 

Good morning driver's off today back tomorrow and Friday.
Wow what a first day. Very safety minded company gonna take a bit to get used to it all and being around others all day. All in all after my first day I think I I'll settle in ok.

Good Thursday morning driver's, everyone have a great day and stay safe and dry if your in the rain event.
I am officially not a driver of big trucks anymore. But I am a driver of a forklift and loader of the dry van. Clock in at 7:45 and go home at 16:30. Gonna take a bit to get used to the new job but I think I should adjust.

 

If you can earn a living doing it then it's a good thing. Sometimes I wouldn't mind getting off the road, but then I think I have less than 3 years to go so ill stick it out. I could work a dock and I do for my company sometimes. But they won't pay a drivers wages for me to work the dock.

 

Don't get me wrong I'm not making LTL driver pay by any means but this should get me by. We're comfortable and I still have 10 years left.

 

I will be in the same situation. The county job certainly does not pay like LTL. But the other upsides make up for it,….M-F, all holidays off, county healthcare and pension, etc. Plus i will working about 3.5 miles from home….that will help in gas money alone and keep the miles off the taco. Still dont have a start date yet. Imagine i will be hearing from them some time late this week or early next to tell me what the next step i the process is.

 

This has much better benefits and pay but is 18 miles away instead of 14. M-F 7:45- 4:30 and all major holidays off.
This was the best option for me because I wouldn't even made gas money or no groceries.

Had XPO guy recognize me and thought it was cool to see him.

Nothing like spending 4 hours at the convention center on a Friday. Inside is even more insane. ZERO room to maneuver

was also there last Saturday. You can see how there is literally zero room, especially when it’s full which it always is

 

Good morning driver's, have a great weekend.
1st week done, been pretty interesting. Started a week early and HR tracked me down to initial my new start date. Can't clock in yet, supervisor said go home at 16:00 I'll clock you out . Had sheriff deputies stationed at every gate because employee made a violent threat to bring something in to take care of everyone. I will not be working hard just a little steady.

1st full week of the new job, I already know that my former employer has to pick stuff up this should be good , especially if I know the driver.

We haven't had rain in weeks, non in the forecast for at least another week. It's making some trees drop their leaves early. Lawns are crispy, lol. Just boring sunny and warm here in Michigan, lol.
