Right now, I don't have a bed rack I've got the OEM 3 panel bed cover. Was hoping to be able to pack everything in the bed, but the size of the Gazelle IS problematic for a long trip and the necessary gear for what we are planning now. For various reasons, a RTT is not an option for us.

Just finished the Utah BDR and used the 270 awning for repair shade in a 98 degree mid day breakdown. Love this thing!)

I had planned on starting my run north in a week or so but threw in the towel with the rising gas prices. Coming from the FL gulf coast it was a lot of miles and the costs were adding up quick.

Out of curiosity, what was gas running in Whitehorse, Eagle Plains, and Inuvik when you were there?

    it turned out gorgeous regardless,
What camera, lens, and settings did you use out of curiosity? Been meaning to try and pull off those types of photos but being I'm currently in the land of the eternal sun (until September because hooray being in the Yukon), can't really try it.

Widest aperture your widest lens can go to, put your camera in manual focus, set focus to infinity, bring it back a smidge, play with ISO and shutter speed times for different effects. Have fun :)

Thanks for the updated gas prices, about $6.75 to 7.68 USD/gallon for us imperial types.

At least it’s holding steady and not still increasing from the last time I checked. I’m afraid I will regret my decision, but I’m not willing to spend the extra money right now just to make the trip.

    Used a sony a7 mk4, (old version), with a
Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM Lens , bulb mode. I used several different ISO and shutter speeds. Similar to this, taken last weekend north of gerlach nevada, very remote, dark place in the US.

Thanks for sharing a lil piece of heaven right there! I wasn’t too far away, at the northern tip of Idaho.
I have a soft spot in my heart for BC, love that place. It’s so huge diverse and amazing, it will take a lifetime to cover and still then you only come away with small understanding of what it offers!
Oh the bears! I have some stories of my own! Glad yours was a yogi encounter, lol, it’s the real deal up there in the big leagues!! I’ve seen 700+lb black bears and Grizz in the near 1200 lb…. makes you feel small.. humble… and alive!

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Fishing the Skagit river is truly heaven. To walk 10 or more miles a day, fishing run after run in that scenery on a sunny 80F day is something else. Plus see no one the entire time.

You can also camp at Ross lake. Skagit flows into Ross lake, then out the south end into USA.

I camp at the Ross lake campground for a few days and fish the river. Mornings head off and park at a mid point on the FSR, bushwhack in, and man o man is it beautiful. In early September when kids are back in school there are maybe 4 or 5 others camping there, most just fishing the lake. That can be good too, especially in a belly boat. Where the river hits the lake, the water is crystal clear to 40 foot depth, but the river fishing is best.

One morning on the river, I am on a deep pool at 7am. Sun just starting to come up over the treetops, but the river is in the shade. That foggy mist on the pool, and rainbow trout rising all over. Hooked and released 7 rainbows all 15-20 inches, and 2 bull trout at 21 and 24 inches. The bulls down at the bottom of the pool. All of that in 2 hours.

Then waded another 5 miles of the river, just walking and casting the entire way, catch and release.

    It is a special place.

I miss having a real camera. My last one used actual film so it's been a while and it was pretty basic.

Pick up a good used Nikon. F-Mount. The new mirrorless cameras are expensive and have a limited choice on expensive lenses.

    Nikon D3300~D5600~D7200

    For astro settings:
Set to infinity using live-view then increase magnification to fine-tune infinity to crispest image.
Shutter speed 15-30 seconds. ISO 1600-3200. Timed shutter release on a tripod. A good wide angle
lens at F2.8 ~ F3.5 should produce decent results. And yes, you can do it.

Yes, and you dont need to spend 10k on a camera body either.
