I do trash pickup part-time in the evenings and my bed is looking NASTY. regular car wash isn't strong enough to clean it. Any product recommendations? Bunch of caked on trash residue is really bugging me. Need to clean the bed mat too.

If not too much of a hassle, I would take out the bed mat before doing the trash deed, then high pressure nozzle and hose. ~ hopefully sooner and doesn't sit too long.

You pick up for apartments? Weekly?

yea, i do apartments, 5 nights a week. about 500 units at the property i'm currently doing.

on a side note, if anyone wants to make money with their truck, my company is always hiring people with trucks.

Get a 2.5 gallon jug of Purple Power and dilute it 50/50 with water in a 2 gallon pump style garden sprayer. That should should do the trick. It's a very powerful cleaner/degreaser. Spray it on what you want to clean, let it sit for a few minutes without letting it dry, and rinse it off. Be careful using it at full strenght. The best place I've found to buy it is Tractor Supply. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...3qCSo2eg123Al0xk847ZCtyhs-NsUa4hoCyU0QAvD_BwE

After you clean the bed, get yourself a landscape trailer for the trash run. Saves your truck and it opens up opportunity for further odd jobs.

Put a tarp in it before you start, take it out when you’re done.

yea, sometimes it's brutal. especially when everyone decides to put out 4-5 bags with 20-40 pounds in each bag, and a dozen cardboard boxes.

a tarp is a good idea but not sure i want to mess with a tarp flying around my bed. i have considered a trailer but this is just a part-time job so don't want to spend that kind of money yet. also, it's a pretty busy property and not much room to back up a trailer near the dumpsters.

i will probably just try power washing the bed/mat first and see how that goes. then with some simple green/puple power. might use some aerospace 303 on the mat and bed once clean.

The weight of the trash you're hauling will keep the tarp from flying around. It's really the bottom of the bed you want to protect, not side sides of the bed..
