I just installed two TRQ hub assemblies - one failed within a few weeks and the other is fine. Went to the auto recyclers and bought a used hub that works fine and it was about half the price. I had to clean it up a bit, but it bums me out that one of them was basically DOA.

well I've a set of these sitting in the shop for my Tacoma, do they come with the Oil seal, and the Bearing O ring in the box? was thinking things I'd need replace if since ill already be half way there, doing brakes this weekend and figured might as well do bearings too, cut open one box and looked decent but wanted to make sure i had all the parts prior to working.

I have never seen a set that did not come with the o-ring.
The Beck/Arnely ones come with the knuckle seal.
As do some of the others, but not all provide that seal.

FWIW, I’d recommend the OEM dust seal.
The aftermarket ones usually don’t fit good.
Mine were loose. I took a hammer and “made them fit”. Also used to small amount of RTV to “glue them in place”, just to make me feel better.

Sometimes they are already on the hub.
Sometimes they are in a separate bag.

I had a small panic attack when I opened one set of mine.
There was not an O-ring in a bag like the other one.
Thankfully, I seen it on hub before I went to buy one.

I'm not saying good or bad, one way or the other, but on the Prius the 1a bearing replaced a Timken that only lasted about 10 months, and my wife (who drives the Prius) drives like a girl.

I'm not disregarding anything that anyone is saying here but I've a recpt for the purchase, and the bearings are super-fast to replace for me, likely going to take me longer to get the truck set on jackstands in my shop than anything else. I'm willing to swap them and if they get loud, I will warranty them out and get new ones.

    Yeah. Very true.
    Not much to it.

    17mm wrench
    21mm socket
    35mm socket

And I forget the size for the caliper.

But like you said, it takes about as long to get the truck on and off of stands as it does to change the hubs.

I actually bought a torque adapter to “torque” the hub bolts right. But the first time I just got them “tight enough”

tell me about this torque adapter? i usually just stuff a screwdriver into a clean vent and add like 2 lb to the torque wrench. but I've also seen guys only jack up one side and "lock" it into 4wd and then just truck the torque wrench!

Until I joined TW, I never torqued anything.
I usually torqued stuffed somewhere between not tight enough, and way too tight.

I don't want to give away secrets but i worked for Honda and Subaru, unless an engine is involved, I'm a master of the impact gun. send it home fast and hard. use to keep one of my impacts on an air line that use to on the first setting set to about 80lbs was awesome for all sorts of wheels and tires.
